I have an old heavy hoover upright vaccum. Its getting to heavy to use use due to my back issues. In the past I thought about someday getting a dyson but reality is Dysons are way to expensive.
I have tile in the kitchcen, dining area, halls and entrance way. In the next year I hope to change out the 15 year old carpet in the bedrooms (carpet is actually over 15 years old not new when we moved in but in good condition)

The bedrooms will have some type of fake wood flooring. We have no pets but dd and I have long thick hair so we shed allover the house-lol!We do have new carpet in the den and livingroom so would the vaccum part of the steamer wok on carpet too or just tile/wood floors?

Please tell me what budget friendly vaccum/steamer you have. Please no dyson or other expensive macvhine. Thanks

I just got the Shark Navigator Pro, its pretty light, it swivels! Suctions good, there is a hard wood floor attachment also. The only complaint people seem to have is the attachment hose is short. (Based on reviews- I haven't used that yet). $0 maintenance cost (you clean filters). Then I have the plain Shark pocket steamer mop.

The cheapest place I found vac was walmart. It's half the price of a Dyson, so it works for me!

Disnee Dad Says....................................................Go to ConsumerReports.org. Look at the March 2013 issue. I just can't find mine right now.
