What are your favorite household products? Ones that are worth every penny you spend on them, and you will not use any other brand? After all, one good product is way better than 5 cheap ones that don't work!

My favorite all time household product...Stretch Tite plastic wrap. Best stuff ever! I will NEVER buy anything else! I guess they also make Sam's Club brand. I am not sure there is any other household product that I wouldn't switch out if I had a coupon!

Ziploc brand baggies
Cascade 2-in-1 or All-in-1 action packs for dishwasher
Dawn dish washing liquid
Garnier Fructis Shampoo and Conditioner
Johnson and Johnson Green Tea Body Wash
Secret Deodorant
Mary Kay skin care products
Q-tip brand cotton swabs

Tide
Downy
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
Febreeze
Soft Scrub
Tilex

Tide
Downy
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
Febreeze
Soft Scrub
Tilex

Wow. . our list is almost the same!

I don't use fabric softener, so no Downy. The only other thing I would add is the regular Mr.Clean. It's about the only brand that doesn't give me a headache. The Tilex darn near kills me. . .but it's the only thing that works for the tough jobs.

Mr Clean Magic Erasers...how could I forget that one?! Tried the imitations, no dice. Also the swiffer brand wet jet pads. Cheap ones are not the same!

Wish I had invented ziplocks!!!!! It's kind of a family joke about how much I use them.
Can't live without Downy (April Fresh)....or any candle or anything that smells like it!...the new Glade clean linen scent air odor eliminator smells alot like it as do their clean linen scent candles.
Rubbing alcohol.....this was a tip given to me many years ago by an aunt who was a decorator. You have to be careful not to get it on wood or things that it will take the finish off of, but on sinks, counters, bathroom, etc....it is cheap, disinfecting and makes everything sparkle with just a quick last minute wipe up.

Glad Force-Flex trash bags!! Always used to hate changing the trash bags cause I would end up killing my fingers trying to get the new trash bag into the container. And probably 25% of the time, the bag would end up splitting as I tried to get it in, so would have to throw that bag out. The force-flex bags go in so much nicer.. have never had one rip, and seems to hold more than regular trash bags too. So even though they cost probably twice as much, I insist that dh buy them every time, lol.

the works bathroom cleaner. I think it's the only thing I've found that breaks down the hard-water stains (besides vinegar) and still cleans the soap scum.

Vinegar...goes in wash as a disinfectant and a laundry booster goes in rinse as a softner NO my clothes don't smell like vinegar.

I keep a bottle of about half vinegar an water that I use on back of toliet an tank around the toliet bowl it's self on counter tops etc to clean up an disinfect. Can also clean mirrors an windows with it Works best to spray rag then wipe what ever you cleaning on mirrors follow up with dry rag of course.

Tilex tub an shower cleaner I like the wax in it keeps the lime from building up so quickly in shower.

Lime Away for those times when the lime gets the best of me. Yes vinegar will cut the lime but a bit to runny for vertical surfaces.

GOO GONE the real stuff not the big windex type bottle this stuff works wonderson anything sticky even gum in hair an in clothing etc Idon't use it often but cannot live without it.

Liquid car wax most any kind works ....get all the lime off sides of shower an tub etc then after shower is dry wax sides do not wax bottom of tub tho I do this a couple times a year an my shower an tub is so easy to clean the car wax along with the follow up with tilex weekly an I have not actually scrubbed a shower or tub in years!! Also wax all my sinks in house as well.

Vinegar just sprayed into the air cleans the air of most any unpleasant odors.

Vinegar an baking soda once a month down the drains keeps them running smoothly an freshens drains at the same time. I use the baking soda that has been in fridge an freezer aborbing odors about 1/2 cup soda followed by 1/2cup vinegar let set as long as possible at least an hour the pour pan of boiling water down drain besure an run enoug water for the baking soda to clear the line tho or it can harden in there an stop up drain till it clears its self.

My cleaning rags (old dish rags an wash rags old hand towels cut up old tshirts for dusting.)

Paint brushes even as small as 1/2 inch got a door that has the slat things in it that is wood an needs dusted an oiled the 1/2 works wonders. other sizes for knocking dust out of corners an off whatnots etc.

Great vinegar tips!! I had read an article about the power of vinegar once, and so wish I had clipped it!!

Great idea for a thread...

the works bathroom cleaner. I think it's the only thing I've found that breaks down the hard-water stains (besides vinegar) and still cleans the soap scum.

The Works by far is the best! I spend so much $ on special products for the rust, I couldn't believe when this .97 stuff worked! My cleaning rags are old dish towels, absorbs great and you wash them and they are ready to go again.

where are you finding it for .97c!! I have to search to find it (no longer at wal-mart in our area), not at the local supermarket and sometimes I can find it at meijer for 2.3?. If I can find it for that cheap, I'll stock up.

I can't find reynold's wrap plastic wrap anymore either. I used to love that stuff with the little cutter instead of the sharp aluminum piece. And it sealed everytime.

Have you tried the stretch tite? I am telling you...this is the BEST stuff ever!

no, I've never seen that advertised. Next time I see it, I'll grab some to try. I just get so upset when I find something I like and it works and next thing I know it's gone, no longer ot be found. I turned my sister in law on to the reynolds wrap and we were talking once and she couldn't remember what it was that worked, I pulled mine out and it was the same thing. It was a great product.

On that note, I hate that glad stuff. Is it press & seal? I can never get it to work after the first use. Kids grab something off a plate, try and wrap it up again and it just won't work. My mother in law on the other hand loves it and I swear she bought stock in it, she uses it so much.

Tide with Bleach - Haven't found anything that cleans as well, and it just doesn't smell like my laundry

Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner - I swear, the only reason I ever actually clean my shower is because it just feels "wrong" not to do it every so often. But this thing keeps my shower & curtain spotless and mildew free.

I totally agree with this. I refuse to live without it. Like, I would order it off the internet if I couldn't find it locally.

For those who don't know it - yellow box, blue print... best. plastic-wrap. ever.

Barkeep's Friend is on my MUST HAVE list --- I use it to clean stainless pots, copper, sinks and tubs (stainless and porcelain), my glass cooktop, tile, chrome and pretty much everything else that will hold still long enough. It's a more natural product (no fume, as it's a powder), but it will eat the skin right off your hands, so you need decent gloves. But it works, and works AMAZINGLY well.

I also use a lot of vinegar, baking soda, kosher salt & borax in my day to day cleaning --- vinegar with water and about 5 drops of tea tree oil is my standard counter cleaner. Tea tree oil is about the most effective anti-bacterial/anti-microbial/anti-fungal stuff on the planet.

I found a spray product by Greenology that uses vinegar, citric acid and something else all natural that does a great job on counters, etc. I loved it so much, I made my own!

Walmart! Dollar Tree had it last week and they also had the The Works Tub & Tile (Beats Tilex hands down and doesn't smell bad).
