We are trying to plan a trip for the first week of Oct, and we have always stayed at the DLH. Now that the kids are getting bigger, 14, 9, and 4, we need a little more space and can't afford 2 rooms at DLH. We would prefer some sort of family suite within walking distance to the park, and a nice pool would be a plus too. Any suggestions?

I recently stayed at the Carousel Inn in their one-bedroom suite. Best part... 2 bathrooms!! It's recently remodled and the beds are super comfy. We had a great experience there. Desert Inn and Suites has lots of suite options too, and probably a little cheaper. I've also stayed at the Residence Inn on Clementine. Very nice, full kitchen, but a little further.

well i wouldnt stay at Carousel Inn there are many bad reviews of it. (one from a bout a month ago just made me cringe)
but check out desert inn or hojos. Im going to be staying at desert inn and i got a good deal on it but i booked in jan
id call them and see what they can help you with might be 120 or soemthing a night for a 1bedroom with two kings and 1 tv and then the living room with coutch and aother tv.
(i got a spa room but there a bit more expincve now)

The Camelot does indeed have 2 room suites. (we stayed there in 05):thumbsup2

We LOVED the Camelot for our family of 5! TONS of space - unlike what I have heard from the Desert Inn, but I think the Camelot may be pricier, so you are paying for that extra space. Huge wardrobes, tv in each room, 2 doubles in one room, a king and pull out sofa in the other. Pool pretty nice, but shallow, so maybe not as fun for the older kids, but perfect for the younger ones. I have some pics on my TR (link in my siggy), and I did post a review a while ago with other pics - my vote is CAMELOT all the way! We will definitely stay there again!

Thank you so much for all the responses. I am feeling more encouraged now that I know we have options.

We are tossing up between Carousel, Tropicanna and BWPPI for our trip next year. We were put off by the Desert Inn as it only had an indoor pool, which when we checked it out in 2006 was really stuffy and hot on a summers day. I would definitely consider them during the winter. I know both Carousel and Tropicanna have suites, don't know about BWPPI, all are very close to DL.

First week in October??? :thumbsup2 When my son reaches his teens I'm going to plan a trip to DL durring the first weekend in October. Then I'm gonna get a bunch of red shirts for the entire family :)! My practical joke 12 years in the making!!! Don't hate...Participate...Ya don't have to be gay to wear red!!!! :thumbsup2
