(My first ever thread! :goodvibes) I am looking into taking a sort of graduation trip with a few of my friends sometime in June (we are high school seniors) and am looking into which hotel to choose. While I have been to DW over a dozen times, everyone else except for my dad the "chaperone" has been only once or never been. Our favorite resort is the Ft. Wilderness cabins, which might work, but I am wondering if anyone else has any suggestions. I have stayed at Port Orleans (both), Cornado Springs (hated it), All-Stars (Sports), Contemporary (too pricy), and the Boardwalk (again too pricy) as well. Getting two rooms is an option due to finances (2 all-star rooms are cheaper than one FW cabin), and make sure to keep in mind that this group of my friends includes both guys and girls. Any advice would be welcome! :)

I would consider pop century. We are also going there in June with a large group and getting several connecting rooms. It came out cheaper for us. The rooms are the same size as the all stars. The lake is really nice and you can walk over to art of animation. It is really fun and pleasing to all age levels. I think guys and girls would both like it! It may also save you some money staying at a value. We will be at the parks most of the time.

POP century was my first thought too! You can walk across bridge and eat at AOA or shop there as well. Another option is maybe 2rooms at POR? The boat to DTD is a fun thing to do. OKW and SsR would accommodate a group and boat to DTD is available from there too. As a mom of dd18 and ds16 I know you will have wherever you go because of the people you are with:).
Have Fun!

Value resort-
- con - you might not get connecting rooms
- pro - food court
- pro - cheaper
- transportation ?

Cabins -
- pro - privacy
- pro - full kitchen
- pro - more people can have separate beds
- con - more expensive
- con - no counter service at Ft Wilderness
- transportation ?

Why on earth would you take a graduation trip with your DAD!!! That's just insane to me...

To your question I would look at what you guys really want to do the most. The wilderness cabins are out of the way and you can probably get a little more rowdy there than most resorts.

Thanks to all the responses! To those who have stayed at and suggested Pop Century...how was the bus service? One thing I disliked about All-Stars (there were plenty of things I liked) was the fact that the bus service was not as good/reliable as the other resorts :/ . Obviously getting two rooms at a value resort makes sense in terms of being thrifty...I'm just trying to balance $ and benefits and all :)

Free transportation and he has an AP so we would get room discounts...we are teenagers and we want to save money. We might get two rooms just so he can have his own room :rotfl:

I still take trips with my Dad and I'm 30 - it's a blast :)

POP has great bus service. I've stayed there twice and it was short trips for both but I never waited too long and at peek times they kept them coming. Having AOA there as another place to shop and eat is great too!
