Ok, I love my boys and all and we had a great family vacation last month, but by Day 3 or so, DH and I were already planning our next SOLO trip together! No, seriously, we haven't had an "us" trip since before our oldest was born, and he's turning 10 in a few weeks! We loved POR, and would love the chance to stay in one of the Mansions buildings.

I've been on a day trip to the World right after Thanksgiving, and remember how absolutely gorgeous everything is with all the decorations up. I think that would be a really great time of year for us to go.

For you vets of the holiday season, would we do better crowd-wise to go mid-November (pre-Thanksgiving) or early December (1st or 2nd week)? We would be staying at POR again.

Thanks in advance for all your wisdom! :wizard:

well as i don't know what the crowds are like in november but i do know that they are really low in the begining of december. and an additional plus of the christmas decorations being up it another thing that could make your trip extra special. im going on my first trip this december without my parents it will be just my DBF and i. perhaps ill get and extra special early christmas gift :thumbsup2 anyway i am super excited and i know it will be a special trip for the 2 of us and of coarse the disney and christmas lover i am will probably cry when i see all the decorations. just imagine the 2 best things ever disney and christmas!!!

we're taking our 3rd December trip this year, and we've been going the second week in December. The weather can be a mixed bag, but we found that the crowds were great during the week, and busier on the weekends. Overall, it's a great time to go because most kids are still in school; it's not quite the holidays-time, but you still get to experience all the holiday stuff WDW has to offer.

I would go either first two weeks of November or December. Though I've been hearing that for the past four years the first two weeks of December has been more crowded then usual.

Oh - you must go the week after Thanksgiving! The crowds are so low and the weather is still nice during the day. You can run into downright cold weather at night but that just gives you and DH more time for snuggling!!!!!!!

The week after Turkey Day and the weeks before Christmas are great! Nov has its' advantages: A little warmer, relatively smaller crowds, and you still get the Christmas decorations. Of course closer to Christmas during the first two weeks of Dec. has the advantage of being...well...closer to Christmas! More opportunities for MVMCP and the Candlelight Processional (though truth be told, if you plan carefully, you can attend these special events in Nov. too) and that romantic Dec. chill in the evening air.
In fact if you pick Dec. you may have that romantic chill in the air all day long! :sunny:
