Best hand held fan for trip in August

We are another O2Cool fan out there! We got ours in 2007 and have been using them since. They are light weight and wonderful! We would not have been able to go every year in Labor day weekend without them!

I have probably posting this pic many times but here's what we have:

I went to our local Walmart and asked for these and they looked at me like I had three heads!

So I went ahead and ordered 2 of these beauty's from Amazon. I hope it will keep my Captain Grumpy happy!

Just a quick thought - Since the water tank is smaller, you could refill it with ice water (free ones that you could obtain from CS) when it starts to warm up and then you are ready to go with cool mist again!

We are counting down 45 days now!

Disney sells water misting fans. So does Wal-Mart. Guess who has them for less money?

I've never bought one, but I've been spritzed by the ill-behaved children of people at WDW. It works.

(For a guy who hates heat, Disney in August seems like a bad choice, lol!)

I just bought 2 of these from walmart for 7.00 each. Mine are the bigger ones. But I have a stroller bag we can put them in. We are going the same week as you. The walmart we went to only had the pink ones left. Lucky for me I have 2 girls. I figured Dh and I can share the girls fans. He is use to carrying pink stuff. LOL

I'm so scared of the heat that we are adding the WP option and more to our tickets this week. We go for 10 days and figred we would just do one WP. But I think I'm going to need at least 2 of them.

It sure did! I love the idea of free ice water to refill it with...I think that will help a little bit!

We will be leaving when you get there...we are there from August the 26th to Sept. 2nd....so excited to go back "Home" even if we melt!

I saw some of these, and they just seemed big and bulky for our needs. I think it would have been too funny to make my hubby carry a pink one, but we don't have princesess to justify them! Have a magical trip!!

Just back from Wal-mart 2 hours ago. Picked up the O2 Cool fans. We went to sporting goods first, only to find out that they are in the big fan aisle. They had several kinds, and the O2 Cool ones were $4.00 each. Can't stop playing with them since I brought them home. LOL. Hope that helps anyone searching for them.

Dh went camping this weekend - it was near 100 here - and I picked him up some small fans that are on a necklace type thing to wear around his neck. They gave off some serious cool air - and cost $3 each at Walmart. Incredibe investment! Will be going back to get a few more for our vacation! just bring extra batteries with!

We like our mistymates which we got a few years ago. We fill with cold water, pump and get a fine mist. They are not very big but the water heats up so fast anyway that we frequently refill them.

For the keychain misting fans... yes, florida's hot weather warms up the water pretty quickly. Our family usually carry frozen water bottle. So we frequently refill with those. Also when ever we stop by CS/TS for a meal, right before we live, we refill the fans.

We have o2 cool keychain misting fans. They are about size of iphone and they are small enough to be hang from belt loop or bag. It's powerful and use one AA battery. One lasted our whole week trip to WDW last Sept. We are taking taking them again coming trip. We bought them at local Walmart for about $5~6. It's at sporting section. We like ours much better than bulky, expensive Dinsey ones.

We've got these. They work great!

The thing I don't like about misting fans is they are heavy. They become just one more thing to carry around.

I use a Chilly Pad and the small 02 Cool fan similar to the one pictured in this thread, but not the misting variety. The misting kind just spreads warm water and leaks. The Pad goes around my neck and the fan fits in a pocket when not being used.

We are also going the same week and I bought one of the bottle misting fans ($7.00) and one of the O2 fans from Walmart for our trip! This is our first trip to WDW and I've read so much about how hot it will be. I'm thinking we might need one more fan so me, DH, and DD will all have our own!
