Best guide book

Although I love all the tips and info I'm finding on here, my family is starting to wonder why I'm sitting at the computer day and night

I would like to grab one of the guide books, and would love to know which is the best.

I know the Official one contains coupons, but from what I'm seeing they are all for shopping, which I don't really need. Are there more useful coupons that make it worth buying or is the Unofficial book have more useful info?

I bought the unofficial one, it's huge! It was around $20 and very valuable. Now everything in the book can be found on here (and more!) but in the beginning planing stages some nights I just wanted a book. I'm kinda old school like that.

Still - with hovering on these boards - I like the Unofficial Guide (and access to touringplans.com) but also like the Passporter and Julie Neal's Disney World Book. It hasn't been released since 2012 (and now is VERY cheap). The three together for me filled in info nicely with differing perspectives.

In theory, a 2014 version of the Neal book will be released - but I am not holding my breath (even though I have already ordered it)

I swear by the Unofficial Guide and touringplans.com. I feel that this book is great at orienting you to the way the whole park system works. Great tips, and fun to read. It's easy to skip around and only read the parts that apply to you.

I like the Unofficial Guide. I also like the Passporter but as more of a keepsake to make notes in and add things in the pockets. : )

Another vote for Unofficial Guide! I can relate OP on holding a book in your hand...I'm old school too! Even though everything won't be completely up to date, it gives you great info, tips and the lay of the land!

Another for the Unofficial Guide! I used their Las Vegas one when I went there and found I loved the writing style & humor.

I love the Passporter deluxe spiral edition. I have the binder and can just replace the edition in it every year
