We will be using a transportation service with a grocery stop to get from the airport to the Wyndham Palace. There have been several recommendations for the Publix and the Walmart super store on this board. Are either of these on the way to the Wyndham? Any other suggestions would be welcome. Thank you.

Hi Ariel'sMom,

We went to Publix during our Nov trip. Had a car, so we drove ourselves and I must admit that I get turned around easily, and Disney is the worst. However, it only took a few minutes to get there. I wouldn't think it was too far out of the way. Also, I seem to remember that some of the car services offer that as a freebie, taking a swing by a grocery store. I'm not sure which of the services do this (see reference to DVC board below).

To get more specific (helpful), I believe you can scoot over to the DVC boards and search on Publix. That's where I found the directions and address. Then you can do a map lookup on one of the mapping websites.

Enjoy the trip!

Hi Ariels mom...

May I ask what service youa are using? We used Tifffany and they stopped off at Kash-n-Karry. Juat a reg grocery store with great prices. I dont know if anyone else has used that store??? I found it to be wonderful and it was close by. I hope you have a gerat trip! :D

We are also using Tiffany Towncar and the Kash n Karry sounds just fine. I'm calling them today to make sure our reservation is in place and will ask if that is where we will be stopping to shop. May I ask what you gave as a tip for one way with the grocery stop? Thanks for the info.

I am sure you will be happy with the Kash n Karry, it seems to be a reg place for them to stop at as we saw a few other drivers there as well. AS for the tip it was actually quite alot but we had such great service and it was Christmas time and we were in the giving spirit. Our driver was so delightful and he was ready and waiting for us and our flight was about 15 min early! Meeting him was like meeting a friend rather than a driver. We thought our luggagae might not fit into the trunk as we brought So much :D but he fit everything in that trunk nice and tidy like and was very careful of our luggage. We def appreciated this. We cracked jokes and had a great discussion on the way to the store and when we arrived he did not rush us but we were in and out within the 30 min time frame. I will have to look up his name in my vacation book he was fabulous! Def a great way to start off our vacation! Unfortunately he was on vacation himself when he had to return so we had a different driver.... we were thankful that he wasnt the one that had picked us up at the airport! So to finally answer your question .... the tip was around $ 40. I know its alot but he was great and we so appreciated him and that it was Christmas we felt it was def worth it. Plus we are big believers of great service should be rewarded but that is just us. I would say maybe20 dollars would be good if thats in your range. It all depends on the service you get. IMHO. There maybe others out there that can give you more insight tip wise. We just always tip based on the service and the person. Sorry for being so long winded.... enjoy your trip!:Pinkbounc

When we used Tiffany last November, they stopped at Publix. They didn't give us a choice, but Publix was ok with us. Before our trip, I inquired about WalMart and they told me that they won't stop at the WalMart Superstore because it takes too long.

I wonder if the Kash-n-Karry is new. I haven't heard of it before now.

Hi B3.... I am not sure if this store is new. Considering we went in dec I am sure it couldnt have been only a month old. If you will be using TTC again I would inquire about kash N karry. I was worrired about the prices of stores near Disney but this was a reg store with reg prices. Like I said there were several other TTC drivers there as well... 4 when we came out. NEver hurts to ask. Enjoy!
