Best graduation present ever! July 2012 PTR

Okay, now that I have switched things around and added ADRs and fun things to do...lets get this PTR going here finally. But first.... a few pictures of my little man. This is his first year doing a team sport. First T-Ball game. DH is assistant coach and our cousin is the main coach. It is fun. He's just so cute in his little uniform :cheer2:

They are the Red Sox which is a big thing up here :)

So...I still can't figure out how to upload anything other than pictures, so I just snapped these screenshots for you. You'll get the idea...

My plan is to print these off in a 5X7 or 4X6 and put them into an album for her graduation present. I need to have something for her to open at her party. She doesn't know much about Disney, so I figured this would give her a good idea of some of the things we will see and do.

I tried to think of a few other resorts I would want to see for dinner ADRs. I know I want to show Dani Wilderness Lodge, but we didn't love WCC last time, so I think we will just try Roaring Forks the day we go there. Maybe skip over from the MK for lunch. I added Boma last night. Kinda surprised they still had availability at this late date.

I plan on fully utilizing both AM and PM EMHs at most parks. But this may go out the window when we get there if we are just too exhausted to stay up late and get up early. We'll see.

As you can see....I have all the shows on my Must Do lists. We didn't get to see any of them in Feb with my little guy in tow. DH and DS are not show people, but Dani will love them. I wanted to take her to Cirque too, but her sister is taking her to a Cirque somewhere around here in June for a graduation present, so I will skip that and save some money :)

Yep, had to fit a picture of my beloved Poly in there :) We will definitely be hopping over there for a few meals. Very excited to try a few new meals on this trip. Via Nappoli will be yummy. Happy to get to try the Fireworks Dessert Party and I scheduled Boma early enough that we won't be too full for the yummy desserts. How is Boma? Anyone try it for dinner? D~, you guys went there, right?

I loved Boma.....there's enough 'regular' stuff to eat if you're picky, but also some different stuff. Oddly, I wasn't really sold on the zebra domes that evveryone goes on about, but they had some wicked bread pudding.

It's funny that you're worried about the heat - we always worry that it won't be hot enough when we go.......trying to get away from our wet and soggy UK weather.

I usually do a planner for when we go - looks a bit like a school timetable all on one page. I can email you if you like (PM me). I'd be happy to put something together for you based on your powerpoint.

No Disney for us until at least 2014, so I like to live through others PTR/TRs!!

Suzi! I love how your planner turned out! That is fantastic!

LOL Eliza32... We felt the same way about Boma... Not real big on the zebra domes either.

D~

I can't wait to try some of the different stuff! I don't think Dani is real picky, so she should like it. I know she will like the animals, thats why I wanted to see that hotel. I doubt we will ever stay there since it just seems so far away from our favorite parks. But it sure looks beautiful to visit :) I PMed you about the planner. Thanks!

Oh, you were the TR I was reading about Boma....I thought so, but wasn't sure. Now I have to go back and find which post it was :) I'm excited to try it. We probably won't spend much time at the dessert area since we will have the Wishes Dessert Party coming up that night.

No Rockin Roller Coaster???

Not for me. I like rides that go upside down, but I don't like to hang there. I've heard RnR gets kinda stuck upside down, is that true? I may give it a go if we happen to hit it with a short wait, but otherwise....I have enough other things to do :) I do love Aerosmith though, so I might give it a try. Just not a "must do" for me. Dani is more than welcome to have a go at it though. I'll happily wait and take pictures!

Great job on the planner. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't like WCC (hubby got sick on the food there).

Your plans sound great, we've gone to some of your dining places and liked them.

And I love the little guy playing t-ball; I remember those days so long ago.

Stuck there? I haven't heard that.
The ride is very fast. We never were stuck.. Once of my favorites.

Thanks Kathy. We didn't love WCC, but we would try it again since most of our trouble was the server. When we go back next as a family, Bill wants to stay there, so I'm sure we will have a couple meals there then. Wanted to skip it this time though.

Oh, well maybe I will try it. I had heard that it stopped for a second up top and you hung there. If that's not the case...maybe I'll have to add it to my list :) Or send Dani in to try it first then see what she says!

I honestly do not remember being stopped upside down... Maybe someone else would have a different opinion?!?

And its not my DS I am worried about not liking the buses....its DH! He hates to travel, hates heat, and hates crowds. Yeah, he's a joy :) But he is the one I worry about if we stayed off the monorail trail. DS is fine with anything.

LOL - that's EXACTLY my issue! I know that DS will be fine on the busses - it's my husband I am concerned about. I would LOVE to book a monorail resort, but it's not looking likely. Even with renting DVC points. It would be WAY cheaper to book AK. They do have excellent bus service to AKL, so I am thinking that's where we would be staying. ANyways, hopefully my DH doesn't have a melt-down on the busses. TIME OUT for him if he does! :rotfl2:

This will be a good test trip. It is going to be hot and crowded, so if the buses don't seem too bad this trip, I will know my DH will be fine and we can save some serious $$ next trip :)

I have StraightTalk cell service and I love it. Unlimited EVERYTHING for $45/month. How can you beat that?! My only complaint has been that they don't have SmartPhones on the Verizon network (my phone runs off that network but isn't a "smartphone"...only mobile web). They still don't, but my sister-in-law just bought one on the Sprint network. Doesn't work so well here, but will work great at Disney. She didn't like the phone, but its too late for her to bring it back. So....she gave it to me for free! I will keep my regular phone to make calls with around here and just activate the smartphone when going to Disney or other places it will work well. Who knows....it might be fine for me. I will have it activated and test it out before our trip.

So, what are some good aps to get? Disney and non-Disney. Android....not iPhone :)

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. My weekend started out good, but then went downhill fast on Sunday morning. Hubby and I were just sitting on the couch watching tv and waiting for the little guy to wake up. We heard the normal "thump" upstairs that meant our kitty was jumping down from something. A few minutes later we heard the "thump" again but it was a little different this time. We just thought she had knocked something over in her jump. Well, turns out she was in our window and the screen had fallen out and her with it! She is an inside cat, and very small. It was a second story window with quite a drop down the hill from there. It wasn't until about an hour later that I noticed the screen wasn't in the window. So she had been outside for at least an hour before we started looking for her. I figured she was hurt and would've just dragged herself into the bushes to hide. But we looked and looked and couldn't find her.

She still has not returned this morning and it was very chilly and wet here last night. I am so worried about her. She still has her claws, but she is so tiny. And she doesn't have all the shots that an outside pet should have. I was fine all day yesterday because I was sure she would come back before dark when she got hungry. But as dark was falling I just about lost it. I kept my cool until after Bradey went to bed so he didn't see me cry, but I am so scared for her. I just want my baby back :worried:

Here is my little girl

Please keep her in your thoughts for me :(

I've been thinking about you all day Suzi, and your little Kitty... I sure hope she makes it home safely soon. Our pets are so much a part of our family and they are like children to us... Many hugs and many prayers... (((Hugs)))

D~

Thanks D~. She was still not home this morning. She picked a bad time to run away as it has rained here every day since she left. It is supposed to be really bad tonight and tomorrow. Thunder storms and heavy rain :( I feel bad for her, since she cowers under the bed when it thunders. But maybe this will make her come home. I was out in the rainy woods again this morning calling her and shaking her treat bag. I just want her home to cuddle :(

Do you have any neighbors that may have rescued her?

Rufus chased our cat (Porky) away shortly after he moved in with us. I know she lived in our neighbor's garage for a while... I tried to catch her, but she ran away. We never saw her again - until about 2 years later - literally driving the Uhaul with all of our worldly possessions down our alley... There was Porky, sitting in at window of the home 4 houses down from us. At least we know that someone was loving her and taking care of her.

I hope that your sweet kitty finds her way home soon. (((Hugs)))

D~

So in an attempt to keep my mind off my missing Molly....

I am jumping back into my planning. I thought I had everything all figured out, but I didn't realize that not all the rides are open during EMH. And that different rides are open for AM vs PM too. Oy! Now I have to make all new plans ;) Not that I don't have the time. It is soooooo boring at work lately.

So....on to a new spreadsheet :thumbsup2

Oh, did I mention I have been playing around with aps for my new Android phone? I found a really cool thing called ThinkFree Office. I can store all my Excel and Word things on there and can read them from my phone! That means I won't have to print any spreadsheets or pages off to carry around with me in the parks. How cool is that?! I will have all my ADR conf numbers and plans right in my phone. Loving this SmartPhone thing :)

I have talked to all the neighbors I can catch at home. We have a couple farms near us that she might be keeping dry at. I have put an ad with a picture in the local paper, so everyone I haven't talked to will see that one was lost. I would hope people would call if they see that and they have her. I kick myself that she didn't have a collar or her shots. We just never thought she would go out, so it wasn't an issue.

And can I just say how much I LOVE the name Porky for a cat! So cute! :lovestruc
