Best good neighbor hotel for family of 5??

I have 3 kids under 11 yrs old. What would be the best hotel for us? My kids are water rats so it must have a pool. hopefully close enough to walk and cheap parking. And free breakfast would be awesome ( I know but a girl can dream)

YOU have to take RT but it picks up right infront of the hotel, but we liked the staybridges.. it has a great breakfast.. Shares a pool with Holidayinn.. I think parking was free.. we got the bedroom last time.. one room has 2 doubles.. the other has a king.. and then the kitchenette/living

You have a few options. One big one would be Hojo's. Walkable, has Kid Suites, and the pool/water park is great. Hilton also has a great pool/water park, and can sleep 5.

We stayed at Stovall's in May and were pleasantly surprised. They have 2 pools, 2 hottubs and a small wading pool for the little ones. They also have a hot breakfast, with eggs, sausage, pancakes, ect. It wasn't the best quality food, lol..but its free so who can complain? The rooms only have 2 queen beds though, so you would need a rollaway unless you have a really little one who can squeeze in with 2 others. Friends of ours actually pushed the 2 chairs together(they are nice comfy chairs) and made a little bed for their 3 yr old. it was only my 2 girls and I that went in May for a dance competition..we are going back in Oct with the entire family(DH and I and our 4 kids) and have booked 2 rooms at Stovall's and have to move next door to BW Pavilions on the last night because Stovall's is not available

We also love the Fairfield, their rooms come with sofa sleepers...but no breakfast. The Park Vue is also great, with a free breaky, but the prices seem to have gone up substancially since we stayed there in 2006.

Personally I love the Del Sol. It's clean, large rooms and has a 2 queen and and bunk beds for under $100 usually parking is $8/day. They have a small clean pool and hot tub and a minimal breakfast. Park Vue Inn gets good reviews as well. They have a bigger pool, hot and cold breakfast, limited 2 queen/bunk bed rooms and are right at the crosswalk parking is free. Other people on here like the best western park place inn. It has 2 queens and a pullout couch. It has a hot and cold breakfast, decent pool and is right at the crosswalk. I believe parking is $8/night. Others really like the HoJo. No breakfast, farther walk, some kid suites and an awesome kids water play area and decent pool. The last one I'll suggest is the ramada maingate. It has a decent breakfast. I hear they've added some hot items, not sure though. They do have rollaways available as well as playpens depending on your needs. They have a great pool with water squirters and a beach entrance and a deep end as well. Of course there is also a hot tub they are about the same distance as the Hojo (8 min walk).

The six of us have usually stayed at the Residence Inn Maingate, great breakfast, manager special at night, free grocery shopping. One ofour most favorite.

When are you going? If you have 6 months or more to plan, HoJo's Kids Suite is a great option. They book REALLY fast, though, and the standard rooms may not be spectacular enough to justify the higher prices compared to the motels/hotels closer to the DLR entrance. We love the Kids Suite because it has the room with bunkbeds and a sofa bed so kids can nap while the parents relax in the room with the king bed.

HoJo's water park area is fun for young kids (not sure if a 10 year old would still like it, but kids under 8 seem to love it). There's also a regular pool (garden pool) if the older kid wants to swim laps.

Free parking, but no breakfast so we bring food for the fridge and microwave!

We were quite pleased with Ramada Maingate.

It is very walkable, has a great pool, very passable breakfast, easy parking... all of that is included with the room.

We did get an upgraded room at a regular room rate by booking online through their web site -- there's an Internet only promo code that was up for a while.

It seemed to be similar in cost to Fairfield but with better pool and breakfast included. The downside is that it is a motel, not a hotel, and it is definitely older and more worn. That said, we found it clean and totally comfortable.

BTW, Good Neighbor is just a marketing thing where they give money to Disney. Many of the local hotels are not GN hotels, but are close -- some closer than some GN hotels -- and just because it's GN doesn't mean it's necessarily cleaner or better... in fact, the GN hotels are often a bit more $$ because of the money Disney gets from the marketing program.

We have a trip for october planed with rooms at the staybridge it has great reviews not walking destence but full kitchen and free parking and free hot breakfast

We have stayed in the kids suites in the portofino three times, most recently this july. King bed in one room and a bunk bed with pull out couch. We had two adults and 4 kids ages 6,7,10 and 10. More than enough room, free parking for two cars(cant beat that) and 1 long block to disneyland. Really not that long. We used the jolly roger pool which is in the same parking lot( you are allowed to do this). Kids loved the heated Pool at night. No free breakfast but we brought cereal and bagels. The room has a small fridge and microwave so we stored the milk and butter. I highly reccomend it!

Thank you for posting that. I thought it was just me. I've tried to get the kid's suite every trip and it's always booked and I start looking several months before our trips.

We always stay at Desert Palms. It has a free breakfast, which consists of a make your own waffle bar, sausage, biscuits and gravey, scrambled eggs, fruit, yogurt, donuts, cereal, outmeal, potatoes, coffee, milk, juice, pretty much a nice selection for even the pickest eater. And we always take a few pieces of fruit for a snack later in the park. The pool is a little small and right in the middle of the hotel, so it doens't get a lot of sun and the water was rather chilly last time we were there. But it did it's purpose. The hotel has a microwave and a fridge and lots of room. We had 2 adults and 4 kids in a suite and had plenty of room. The walk to the front gates is about 10 minutes, but we made that walk several times a day and no complaints. The hotel was clean and the staff was great!

Best Western Park Place Inn has rooms with 2 queens, sofa bed, microwave, and fridge. They offer a good breakfast with milk, juice, tea, coffee, cereal, eggs, toast, donuts, and have added hot items since my last visit that include waffles, egg patties, and sausage. I may have missed a few things, but you get an idea of what is available.

We never used the pool last visit, probably will this time as the park hours are much shorter and I don't have a kid that needs to go to bed.

Best Western Park Place Inn is right across the street. Closer than the DL Hotel.

You and I have vastly different definitions of large rooms! We stayed in a 2 queen/bunkbed room in May (and are again in Sept). We found the room to be small and cramped compared to the 2 queen/sofabed room at the Desert Inn next door. Our room was ok, but I would not use the word large in my description of it.
