Best face mask in heat

I will be looking into the Chiffon Masks.

I'm still hoping masks will not be required this summer. The CDC is expected to announce this week new guidance that masks aren't required outdoors as new data suggests COVID doesn't really spread outside. We shall see how Disney responds.

Mostly just replying to be subscribed. I don't like the paper masks and have dealt with cotton ones before in the heat. Sweaty.
I'll have to look into chiffon!

This is my new go-to for the parks. Easy breathing. Shaped to keep away from the mouth. Adjustable ear loops. Strap to hang from the neck when removed is built in. Best of all the 2xl actually fits my rather large noggin, and the ear loops don't yank on my ears. I use the v2 line. The originals are semi-transparent, and I didn't want to risk them not being allowed in the parks.

You will nearly certainly need a mask for many aspects of a trip this August but there is a reasonable chance that at least certain times they wouldn't be needed when outside - say when walking around the world showcase in EPCOT. I guess you'd still want the most comfortable one wither way as the places I've hated the heat the most (Arial's Grotto) would still require them as much of it is inside yet still very hot.

I've got Vera Bradley masks, and will also be there in the extreme heat. Masks don't have ear loops, they go around your head and are adjustable. Hope those are good.

We were at Universal last week (sorry Disney) and used paper masks during the day bc of the heat, switching to cloth in the evenings. Functional and stylish!

I just bought a couple from the Disney store for our upcoming trip in July. It fits pretty good, but not sure how it is all day in the heat. Anyone have experience with those?

They don't breathe very well BUT I think they are very comfortable. I just keep re-wetting mine constantly and it works great. Paper masks are a giant PIA in my opinion.

The paper ones seem to be cooler, but little fuzzies get on my nose & it drives me crazy. I'm bringing my Athleta cloth masks this next trip.

Do you like this better than disposable?

We like Pomchies Brand masks. We live in a free state so we dont have to wear mask besides going to costco. But we wear Pomchies. SUPER breathable. A super light weight material and they are only one layer. So if you want to wear mask because you think they do something i prolly wouldnt recommend them. But if you are only wearing a mask because you HAVE to then they are a great option.

Someone recommended Pomchies on here and I bought one a few months ago and I love it. It's so lightweight, thin and breathable. I ordered a bunch more for the whole family for our trip. They probably aren't the most protective as others but I've started wearing them all the time now that I'm vaccinated and it's warmer out and our trip is in a few months. The masks are 100x better than what we've been wearing in the past. I'm sure it's still going to be miserable but between those and a bunch of paper masks I plan on taking, I think it will be ok. Still trying to be optimistic for them lifting the outdoor mask policy this summer. lol

I love the "everyday" masks from Athletica. It's technically three layers but they are all relatively thin and very breathable. They come with an adjustable metal nose clip and the ear loops are adjustable too. I feel like they provide a nice seal all around my face. I've been wearing them for months and they held up well through multiple washings. I admittedly haven't worn them to Disney but have worn them on some very hot days and they feel as comfortable as you could probably get.

I just checked the website and normally they are $30 for a 5 pack but at the moment they are on sale for $15! They also come in children's sizes. They are marketed as "womens" and "girls" but honestly you would never tell they are gendered, they even come in plain black if you just want something neutral.

My criteria after a year of mask wearing seems to be:

A) doesn't put tension on ears (especially for long day in Disney)
B) lightweight and cool in the heat & stays away from face (3D masks)
C) doesn't fog sunglasses (adjustable nose bridge)
D) protective

* UnderArmour ($28). masks are great. Stays away from face, soft fabric behind ears, breathable. But they fog my sunglasses.

* Mack Weldon silver mask (2 for $30). Stays away from face, sunglasses fog sometimes, for me ear loops have too much tension for a full day in park as I found during our January trip

* Halo Life Mask (Amazon $30). Adjustable ear loop, lightweight & cool stays away from face, no fog sunglasses. (I do not use the charcoal pack inside). Mask is great, but over time (2 months) the insert fabric that holds the charcoal insert starts to stretch & loosen to where it touches face. I don't use the charcoal pack, so I'm not using as intended - but the mask otherwise is great.

Going again in mid May & will be bringing the Halo mask, paper masks and trying out the SHEMA97 mask. Really hoping though, with the new CDC recommendation of no mask necessary outdoors AND us all being fully vaccinated that we can drop the masks even if when just walking around the park. I'd be fine if we had to put them back on when waiting in line.
