I'd like to exchange out for a mother-daughter vacation. :sunny: It would need to be during summer months. We did a cruise last summer, but were slightly disappointed in the offerings that we could enjoy together onboard. Anybody have any ideas? I'm looking for a safe place with exceptional shopping and food.....Thanks in advance........ :lmao:

VB, HH, other FL beaches, Key West, Aruba, Cancun, Vegas, Gatlinburg, Branson all come to mind but there are many others.

One of my absolute best vacations I had was with my daughter in NYC! She had the guts to do things I wouldn't of done with my husband-like figure out the subway-
San Francisco is great too.

Aruba???? We're supposed to be banning Aruba!!! Boy I sure wouldn't want to go there with my teen daughter, much less without her.

Why not, it's still far safer than every other place I listed. As much as I've been criticle of the Aruban government for how they've handled the case, to boycott doesn't seem reasonable. If one doesn't want to go however, that's their choice.

My daughters 12 and 17 and I had a great vacation in Key West. We had a couple of great dinners at nice restaurants, and hit the famous bars at lunch for a meal and a Tshirt. Good shopping, too, up and down Duval Street (mostly trendy and Key Westy stuff). We stayed at the Hilton, but I looked at several of the DVC trade properties and they looked nice (from the outside.)

Dean until the question of where THESE girls have gone...White slaverly exist - it is not a fancy....

if it is just one girl I would agree with you - I did not know that every year a few white attractive girls went missing...

So I agreed with the OP...

I don't think I would go to Florida panhandle with a teenager either.

while there is something for you and her to do together. I don't know if she would appreciate her mother along here..... :sad2:

Ahh, the Florida Panhandle. Yeeeeaars ago, when my youngest was in college, my sis and I did a sister trip and happened to drive through the panhandle of florida. As we
were stopped on the highway in Panama City allowing all the college kids with their kegs to walk across, the reality hit me "wonder what mine's doing this weekend'.
Oh yea, the panhandle of Floirda is deff. not mother/daughter quality time.
First and last time in my life had to walk around condoms in the hallways!

The reality is that anything has risk. And if one is uncomfortable, then do not go anywhere one doesn't want. Things happen all over. I'd still contend that Aruba is as safe or safer than 98% of the places one would otherwise go on vacation and that includes HH and HI. The difference here is very simple, publicity. Aruba is probably a hundred times safer than a cruise for example.
