I have a friend that always stays at the GF but her favorite park by far is EPCOT. She cannot walk at all. I really want her to try one of the EPCOT resorts--but which one would require the least transfers to get to a park? Which park has the easiest access with an ECV? Thank you!

Epcot is the easiest as she could take the monorail to TTC then transfer to the monorail to Epcot. She could take an elevator in the hotel to the floor where the monorail is so that is very easy. She would only need to do one up and down ramp.

I personally like Epcot better than the studios and find them more ECV friendly. Epcot has flower gardens, many cultures, street performances and shows, many foods to try, and except for the shops in the World part most of the park is ECV friendly. Some shops are older and tighter squeezes but I had no problem in 1998 except for this very small Welsh shop. All of the new rides and improved buildings are ADA now.

I loved the Studios but Epcot is so big and has so much to do there that I could spend a week and still find new things to do. Both parks are spread out unlike Disneyland or even the Magic Kingdom. There are broad streets and pathways in both parks. Even if you do not ride any rides there are things to see like shows and parades.

I would say The Yacht Club, or if you dont mind a more family/child friendly atmosphere, then the Beach Club. I prefer the Yacht Club. I use a wheelchair alot but transfer and walk sometimes too. The ECV can eaisly load onto the friendship boat for transportation to DHS and Epcot and you can even just ride in the ECV on the path right into the International Gateway (back entrance) to Epcot.

The bus transportation is good, but we did notice the lack of Magic Kingdom busses, for like every 3-4 busses, the 5th one would be a MK bus. It would be like 2 to AK, 2 to DTD etc. then the 5th one was MK.

Hope your friend has a great trip.

I agree and sorry as I thought you meant from GF. The above is very correct.
