Best Economy hotel within walking

What do you think? What is the best Economy hotel within walking distance to disneyland? What about moderate hotel? What are your favorites and why? Looking for a great place for 3 adult females.

I can't remember how Disney rates each of these, but here are my list of favorite hotels within walking distance.

Carousel Inn, Tropicana Inn, Howard Johnson, Desert Inn, and BW Park Place (haven't stayed here but know people who have been happy with it)

These are all pretty much the same, basic rooms with a simple continental breakfast, with the exception of Howard Johnson. It doesn't have a breakfast but has one of the best pools in the area.

I like this website. I esp. like how it shows you were all the hotels are located. It helped me make a hard decision about which hotel. We are staying at the Desert Inn and Suites in 6 days . We have never stayed their before but will gladly let you know how we like it in 2 weeks when we get home.

For economy hotels I like the Ramada Inn Maingate, and it is within walking distance. You can find pics on the hotel thread stuck at the top.

Best Western park Place Inn. We stayed there in August for five nights. We got a suite with fridge and microwave. The walk to the DL gate is about 5 minutes.

You can find great rates at the Carousel Inn too. We got it for $59 per night on Expedia. Its also right across from the entrance.

If it matters to you ( and being only women in the group I know it might for some people) many of the walking distance places are MOTELS ( or sometimes called motor inns) with only exterior cooridors. I don't mind them personally, But i have heard from people who were negativlysuprised.
