Ok, DW and I are planning a summer trip and want to mainly goto Epcot and MGM parks only. (Best parks for teens) So, which resort would be better BWV (is this a great resort for teens?) or BCV (or is this resort better?) Are there preferred areas at each DVC resort? :confused3 What pool area would be better in the summer months?

Any photo's of your view from the room or around the pools would be nice too:cloud9:

Thank you Sir/Ma'am

We LOVED BCV, it has the best pool on Disney property. There aren't great views from BCV though. I had a view of the quiet pool which wasn't bad. BWV is closer to DHS if you want to walk there. We walked back from DHS to BCV and it was 20 minutes. And we took the boat as well.

That's good to know!! Thanks:thumbsup2 Any photo's of the pool?:confused3

Beach club gets my vote. We just got back and Beach club with SAB is our favorite

I don't think you could go wrong with either. But if the decisive factor is truly ease in getting to Epcot & HS, I'd choose BWV. We had a standard view villa near the "back" of BWV, and did find the walk to HS quite nice. And it was no biggie to walk to the lobby to exit out front to catch the boat to Epcot (and we often kept right on walking to Epcot rather than wait for a boat.) So we found it easy to walk to either park from BWV (and loved being able to take the boat back from either at the end of the day when our legs were tired.) And we just loved the Boardwalk itself. Note that I'd never attempt to walk to HS from BCV. That being said, SAB is an awesome pool and it might just be an overriding factor for you.

If you think your family will love SAB, then BCV would be your best choice. But if your teens aren't that interested in SAB then BWV is a better choice because getting to DHS is easier from BWV. The walk to DHS is a lot longer from BCV than from BWV and the walk to the boat from BCV is also farther than at BWV. There is no bus to DHS from either of these resorts. I also am not much of a fan of the views at BCV, but if you spend all of your time in the parks that won't matter. Good luck! They are both lovely resorts.

It sounds like you are going to be trying to book at 7 months out. That means it is unlikely you can get boardwalk view at BWV (the best on site) or standard view (lower point cost); if you could get either of those I would definitely choose BWV (its lower point cost standard view is not really worse than many of the views at BCV). Also, BCV may be somewhat difficult to get during summer at 7 months out.

Otherwise, either one would be fine for what you want. BCV has the larger and more elaborate pool but you have a trek to the pool. BWV has its main pool close to the DVC rooms. You can walk to the two parks from either but BWV offers the usually much shorter walk to Studios. BC is better on busses because park trips it usually shares only with YC; Boardwalk is not very good on busses because it shares with Swan and Dolphin

I love the BWV. BC seems too busy at the pool area. I prefer to relax by the pool and not fight over getting a seat.

We are trying so different ideas so we won't have to use a rental car and never really have been on a WDW bus in 6 trips:confused3. At BWV or BCV We could just relax and ride a boat to the parks. Could walk to the parks:idea: And ride a bus. Heck, I still have 10 months til I can get a ressie

Just looking at my possibility's for sweet 16 for DD. :lovestruc:wizard: I know she loves:love: MGM. Her favorite rides are there TOT and RR. And she loves Epcot and MK. So we are just collecting info :rolleyes1

Way back when my boys were teens we tried both resorts and they loved BCV best.
They liked SAB and spend a few hours there but they loved BCV quiet pool. Boardwalk doesn't have a quiet pool, only the clown pool which is always crowded. the quiet pool at BCV is very quiet, sometimes there might be 10 people but I have never seen it crowded like the other pools.
they also liked OKW turtle pond area because the pool is quiet and they get to have fun without worrying about bothering others, but you asked specificly for Epcot area.
And my youngest said to add that there are more young people hanging out at the quiet pool at BCV. He met a few kids that he wound up hanging around with for most of the trip.
As to getting to the parks, the walk from BCV to Epcot is very easy, maybe 5-10 minutes. It takes longer going through security than it does to walk there from BCV. The walk to Epcot from BWV is also easy, just a bit longer, maybe 3 minutes. I never bothered with the boats from either because I was able to walk faster than the boat, and it was never at the dock when I got there anyhow.
The walk to DS is a bit longer for either resort, maybe 20 min at the most, but it is an enjoyable walk. I don't do the walk when it is in the 100's thought, I will do enough walking in the parks, so I hop the boat. Again, I walk faster than it takes the boat but on hot days sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

Boardwalk does have a quiet pool, it is right in front of the rec center. :goodvibes

There is also a very quiet and very nice pool in the rose garden on the inn side. Its a hidden pool and wonderful......

I would go with Beach Club - the pool is fantastic and your teens will be happy to spend time at the pool especially in the hot summer. Also, if you are deciding between the two, if you stay at BCV, you can walk over to the boardwalk and enjoy the atmosphere and the fun on the boardwalk. But if you stay at BWV, you can't use storm along bay.

If you can't get what you need though at BCV and can get BWV, it is a fantastic resort with lots to offer. You aren't going to go wrong either way.

my kids and nephews prefer the BWVs, as it is tends to have less diaper age little ones (the pool closes fairly frequently b/c of "leakages" and the lobby is very loud).
the main pool, SAB, at the BCV/BC tends to get very noisy and extremelly crowded (forget about actual swimming when you are literally shoulder to shoulder in the water, or finding a chaise to lounge on).

the BCVs is a beautiful resort, but just too noisy and crowded for our tastes.

the BWVs has soooo much to do: community hall, the main pool (luna park) gets busy with activities, but not overly crowded even in the summer, street entertainers and carny games in the evening, ice cream and multiple restaurants/shops, yummy bakery, etc. we love that there is a myriad of both active and quiet things to do there:cloud9:

i would definately recommend the BCVs for those with very young children, the BWVs for those with older kids and adults.

Yes there are two quiet pools, one on the BWV side and that one on the Inn side. That Inn side pool is almost eerie. Very nice, garden area, the area it is in is fairly large but enclosed all around the perimeter by buildings. I have been there many times and there has literally been no one else around, no one else in the pool, no one walking around anywhere except an occassional worker, and it is silent. It is an experience in its own.

We really like BCV and were there June 12-18th. We have also stayed at BWV, but it was winter time and we didn't have much pool time - so can't really compare it for pool purposes. My kids (17,14, & 10) really love SAB. While we were there, I don't think the pool was ever too crowded to enjoy. There were plenty of people, but I never felt like we couldn't enjoy it due to there being too many people in the pool. Lounge chairs were hard to come by in perfect locations when we would arrive (usually around 1:30 or 2:00), but I was always able to find one to put our stuff on and even scored a table with an umbrella once! We had 26 family members with us and were able to book 6 rooms (2 - 2BR & 4 studios) at the 7 month mark. I never thought we'd be able to get that many rooms, but was successful. So, if you are able to plan that far ahead, I think you would be able to get a room.

We also loved the short walk to the International Gateway of Epcot. We took the boat to MGM, but always walked to Epcot. It was a pleasant stroll!

I almost hate to mention that "secret pool" here for fear it will get discovered. I love the Rose Garden for a break - its so quiet back there. Take a book and sit on a bench or in a lounge chair. You are a million miles away from the bustle of the Boardwalk. There is seldom anyone back there when I visit either - and for me I make it a BW pilgrimage.
