Hi,
Thinking about buying a resale and want to know what pools you like(for what reasons) and what resorts have some form of beach access.

Thanks,
Scott

No Disney resorts have beach access, as in go in the water. Some have beaches but they are just for sitting on the beach. There is no swimming @ Disney outside the pools.

As to which Disney DVCs have beaches, Beach Club and Bay Lake Tower are the only ones I believe. Edit - oh and Villas @ Wilderness Lodge.

Beach Club's Stormalong Bay is widely regarded as the best pool in the DVC complex but there are many other nice pools as well.

Unfortunately there is no "swimming" allowed at Disney Beaches, although the younger ones do love to play in the sand. The DVC resorts with beaches are also as Vicki_C mentioned.

I would agree that SAB is the best pool on the property. Although there are many that do not like it. For the little ones, it is a really large area and it is hard to keep track of them. As well the slide entrance is outside the "main" area so again for the younger kids, this makes it difficult.

Good Luck with your decision! :goodvibes

Disney Vero Beach has a lovely beach/pool! Beautiful!

Loved Disney Vero last summer!:cool1:

both Vero Beach and Hilton Head have beach access.

VB is on the beach - atlantic ocean.

HH is on its own island - but there is a path you can walk, ride a bike, drive your car, or take their shuttle to it.

now for the bad information - both have rather high maintence fees than the on site (WDW) disney vacation clubs.

I do believe that Aulani has a beach. ;)

I would have to vote SAB as best pool. My kids also really enjoy the pool at Kidani.

I do believe that Aulani has a beach. ;)

Not to mention that they will have the best pool of all the resorts in the DVC collection. Infact, from what I saw, they will have the best pool in all of Hawaii. You can't even call it a pool... It's more a water park than a pool! :thumbsup2

Question: how are they going to keep all the Marriott people out? I read that Disney is "sharing" Marriott's restaurant(s), so I hope Disney is able to keep the crowd under control - the beach will be crowded enough.

As others have stated VB, HHI and Aulani all have full beach access and you can swim in the ocean.

At WDW swimming is prohibited for health reasons.

However, BCV has a beautiful beach and the best pool at WDW. But that pool is shared with BC and YC and although pool is large it does get crowded. In fact the entire resort area is pretty busy.

BLT has access to a small beach that could keep some toddlers happy. But it is not an attractive beach. WL has a beach too, but I've never really walked it.

SSR has a very nice feature pool and second one is being built. The slide at BLT is very popular with kids and adults, but the area surrounding the pool is on the small side, on busy summer days, it's hard to find a chair. But you can use the CR pool when staying at BLT. The biggest complaint with BLT is that in the summer a lot of the pool area is in the shade in the afternoon. The water play area is a splash area that kids always love. However, the water play area at Kidani's pool is the very popular with DVC families but some complain that there isn't any shade around the pool. The feature pool at BWV has a slide that comes out of a clowns mouth. And some kids think it's funny to have the clown throw you up and others run in terror from that scary clown. The pool is large and has a kiddie pool, but no zero entry. Plenty of area for shade. The feature pool at VWL is shared with WL and is really attractive, but it seems to get crowded easily. I don't really know about the pool at OKW, except that I believe it does not have a zero entry.

The pools at Jambo House, AKL; SSR and WL have good access to a quick service restaurant. BLT, Kidani, and BWV have access to a pool bar with a limited menu. I don't know about dining at the pool at OKW and BC/Storm Along Bay. Hopefully someone else will fill you in on those resorts.

Whew, hopefully I covered all of the resorts.
