Best Drug store mascara?

Any opinions? Must be water proof...Would like longer looking lashes. I have always used maybelline in the pink tube but I dont' really feel it makes lashes look longer.

L'Oreal's Voluminous not only gives you great looking lashes, it's as close to indestructible as you can get in a drug store formula. You can do a whole lot of crying while wearing it without any ugly face streaks.

I recommend Pond's Cold Cream to remove it gently.

I hope everyone realizes there are only a few manufacturers of makeup. Most "drugstore" makeup is made in the same place as a lot of the "designer" makeup. I wear Maybelline and have for YEARS. Mascara that makes your lashes look longer has fibers in it that attach to your lashes, that's pretty much the only difference.

Fox phila news just did a big mascara test, and "falsies" by maybelline came out on top. I bought it, so far so good. However my fave is the clinique in the green tube and silver cap, but I didn't want to splurge.

Maybelline lash stilleto, doesn't thicken as much as elongates. And no smudge, I use waterproof, nothing worse than racoon eyes ugh.

I used to swear by Cover Girl Marathon mascara, until they discontinued it. It literally never came off. I swore an atomic bomb could drop and the mascaraed eyelashes would still be found under all the ashes, intact. So, it took a lot to find one good enough to replace it.

I tried expensive mascaras from Sephora. They all raccooned.

Then somebody here, a while back, recommended Loreal Double Extend TUBING mascara. If you haven't tried a tubing mascara, it's an odd concept. But you put it on, in two steps. The first coat is a clear wax or something like that. The second coat is the color and when it dries it literally forms a waterproof tube around each lash.

In order for the tubes to come off, you have to wash the eyelashes with enough warm soapy water for about 20 seconds, to melt the wax, and the tubes just slip right off. It looks like a bunch of eyelashes coming off , but they are indeed only the hollow tubes. Very waterproof. I even purposely wore it during a tearjerker movie, and they didn't fall off or raccoon.

Loreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes is my HG Mascara. It never smudges or flakes, it gives long lashes, & it does last until you take it off w/ a cleanser. It's really the only mascara that ever worked for me, every other drug store & high end brand always ended up smudging by the end of the day (even Chanel) but this mascara is awesome. I've also had success w/ Lash Blast from Cover Girl but the Loreal Beauty Tubes is my go to

MAC is not a drugstore brand. It's a brand at more high-end department stores.

MAC is the makeup of choice for professional film & TV makeup artists. My friend is one and sometimes I get to visit her on various sets when the security isn't too tight. It's what many of the makeup artists use for a flawless foundation. I don't think they use much of the MAC mascaras though. I know my friend favors the pink tube of Maybelline, too. The washable one. She says it comes off really easily.

Another vote for L'oreal voluminous. First I apply Clinique's High Lengths Mascara and then brush the voluminous over that coat befor it dries. My lashes are then long and lush. I plan to buy about 20 tubes of both because I don't want to run out anytime soon.

For fantastic lengthening: Revlon Grow Luscious (green tube)

For volume: Maybelline the Colossal vomune (yellow tube)

They are both awesome!!! No clumping either.

I love Cover Girl Lash Blast! I also like Avon's Super Shock Mascara. It gives loads of volume and length. They both have a chunky wand so if if you like a skinner wand, you wont like them.

Mascara is the only make up item I dont splurge on but only because I think the cheap brands are better than the prices ones.

My husband and I stopped buying products that test on animals (including if their parent company tests on animals). I can't tell you how much I miss the Maybeline Great Lash Stupid Maybeline!

Revlon and Almay are two of the few drugstore brands that don't test on animals, and I like almost all their make-up except their mascara isn't that great for me. I recently ordered some Avon waterproof mascara because they don't test and the price is cheap (like drug store prices). They have several waterproof mascaras and you can read the reviews to see which one might be good for you.

Rimmel Extra Super Lash. Amazing!!!!! And sooooo cheap. Love it I was wearing Maybelline Volume express forever but had a coupon for a Rimmel product and decided to try one of their mascaras. I'm so glad I did!!! I won't go back to the Maybelline.

I use the Loreal one in a blue tube- clear extender on one side & mascara on the bottom. I think it's the same one mentioned two times already. It makes my upper lashes thick and fuller and it stays all day.
