Heading out to WDW in 8 days! We are trying to decide about reserving a tour at Disney. What do you think is the best tour you've been on and why?

We are looking more towards the 1-4 hr tours. We are 2 29 yr olds. We're open to tours at any park or resort, so long as it is cool! (Like, the Epcot segway tour sounds cool.)Also, if you know if there are discounts for AAA Diamond Club members for that tour, that would be great.

Thanks!!!

So far I've done the Keys to the Kingdom, Hidden World Showcase, Backstage Safari, and Wild By Design, and they were all great! Deb has descriptions of each tour up at allears.net, which may help you decide. Keys to the Kingdom and Backstage Safari both include "backstage" stuff, while Wild by Design and Hidden WS focus more on the stories behind the places in the park.

::MickeyMo The Keys to the Kingdom tour is excellent and so is Around the World Segway tour. They are both amazing! KTTK is much more informational, but fun. You go on rides and stuff. You get special pins as well from both. ::MinnieMo

Yes, you can get AAA discounts on the tours. You don't have to be a Diamond Club members though...just a plain ol' AAA membership will get it for you! :teeth:

Thanks for the info thus far!

KTTK and the Segway tour were the two that caught my eye first, but I didn't know if there were any other cool not-to-be-missed experiences.

Now, I wonder how many spots are even still available for next week.... :earboy2:

I guess I can just book them by calling the 800WDisney #?

I'm adding my support for Keys to the Kingdom. It really is a remarkable tour (although your tour guide will make a difference).
Still, hands down best tour for me: Divequest. You have to be a certified diver, but going into the tank at Living Seas is pretty remarkable. Turtles, fish, sharks (really, really close sharks--and I have the videotape to prove it).

Five of use took the two-hour Segway tour Sunday. Ages - DS17, DD26, DSIL26, DBIL60, and me. The concensus of the group was it was one of the major highlights of our trip. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Just a few highlights:

1) Tour goes from 8:30-10:30.
2) First hour - watch a brief film, learn how to ride the Segway.
3) They are EASY to use. The internal gyro balances the machine for you. In fact, you go forward by leaning forward, backward by leaning backward. You turn by turning a throttle-like device on the handlebar. It turns on a dime.
4) Second hour, you tour World Showcase. You have to stay in single file until you reach the not-yet-open area. Then, you can spread out.
5) You undertake "challenges" in various places. The challenges are simple, like weaving among the columns in the Italy pavilion. You don't have to do the challenges.
6) You're accompanied by two guides. One tells you a little trivia about each of the showcases. The second serves as a drill sargeant, keeping you "in line".

That is good to know! That's when the park opens at 9? I wonder if it is at the same time on early EMH days... I bet it is cool to tour WS with no one there!

Thanks!!

Anyone know if the KTTK tour begins at a set time each day?

Don't know about any EMH changes that might exist. I believe the World Showcase doesn't open until 10. We only came across a few people on our way back (the tour begins/ends at Innoventions).

It was fun to see people's reactions as we "sped" by them. The guides encouraged us to smile and wave. My DS17 acted like he was on a parade float. As we passed one family, a young girl lagging a few steps behind the rest of her group looked at us, then whined, "that's not fair!".

The also have one-hour tours. They start later, but I don't know much about them. I recommend the two-hour variety. More time on the Segway.

I did the World Showcase tour in April and loved it! I am going to WDW next month and told my best friend to pick which tour she wanted to do, and she picked the World Showcase one, so I'll be doing it again! I don't mind because WS is my favorite area in all of WDW.

Yes, they do. The earliest tour begins at 8:30 am...the other times are 9:00 am and 9:30 am.

Check the link below for descriptions and times for of all the Disney tours. You might even find another one that interests you! :)

Hey, Chrissi242, there was a thread last week about a scavenger hunt at MK. As I recall, the general concensus was that it was great fun for young kids.

Are any tours right for children aged 6 and 2?

The family magic tour at Magic Kingdom id the only tour offerened to children.

here is the info on it from allearsnet website

A tour the whole family can enjoy is offered at the Magic Kingdom. Family Magic Tour takes you on a one-of-a-kind interactive tour through Main St, Liberty Square, Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. During the 2 hours, you are taken through the park's themed lands in search of clues (like a treasure hunt).

Offered daily at 10 a.m.

Disney Family Magic Tour is open to everyone.

$25 for adults and children (plus tax) AND Magic Kingdom Park Admission.

Also the SEGWAY tour is probably already booked. When we did this the first week in September our guide told us it was booked all the way trhough til november and that was 6 weeks ago. We booked our tour like 6 months in advance. I would clal asap to check availablitlity/cancelations etc.

OTOH, I booked the early Segway Tour for the first week of November just last week. I had a choice of several dates. So it can't hurt to call. If you have AAA, ask for the discount!

I've taken the KTTK, Segway twice & hope to take it again and most recently, Undiscovered FutureWorld!

I don't think I would take the Simply Segway, it doesn't sound like nearly as much fun as Around The World On A Segway was. World Showcase opens at 11:00, so you are touring while it's closed to other guests, which is sooooo cool! You see them watering plants, setting up the carts, etc. EMH doesn't effect World Showcase.

Undiscovered Futureworld was great. It went behind the scenes at Test Track, Mission Space, Soarin', Energy and they take you into the VIP lounges all around FW, to the cast costume area (no characters), to the area where they prep Illuminations, and much more.

Enjoy! :sunny:

If you want a unique and cool tour try the "seas Aqua Tour" or "Dolphins in Depth"
at Epcot. The seas tour allows you to float and swim on top of the living seas aquarium using mini scuba gear. No scuba experience required. You cant dive down but you get a great view of its inhabitants. The dolphins in depth is a learning/close encounter with the seas dolphins. You are able to get in waist deep water and have limited interaction with one of them.

I have taken the Keys to the Kingdom and Around the World on a Segway tours. I would say the segway tour was the best! I can't wait to do it again!! I do not think my guide from the Keys tour was that great and most of the information I already knew.

I believe that the # for booking is 407-WDW-TOUR. You may also be able to do it through the 407-W-Disney number
