Some in our party are vegetarians. In terms of a non-Disney buffet, those of us enjoy Sweet Tomatoes.

Is there any WDW buffet that offers such a selection, as Sweet Tomatoes?

Though it's quite different from Sweet Tomatoes, the best buffet for vegetarians IMO is Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

They have lots of salads (though not a salad bar like Sweet) and the soups are fantastic. I go there and rarely touch any meat dishes just b/c the veggie stuff is so good.

When you get there, just tell your server that you're vegetarians & they'll let you know what not to eat.

I've never been, but Boma seems to offer the most vegetarian options.

Im a vegetarian also and we have been to several buffets. Im not real picky and I can say that Ive never had a problem with getting full, but the worst for food variety has to be chef mickeys breakfast. I love the place, but everything I asked about if they could make without meat they said no and then finally a chef told me sorry what is out here is what we have, its all premade. So, kinda sucked.

I probably liked Tusker House dinner best, at Animal Kingdom. It had some dishes that werent the typical Disney Buffett and they were willing to prepare some items without meat. I know some pasta dish they brought out for me meatless.

Also, I was worried about Ohanna, since its known for the meat, while my DH said it was the best steak he ever has had, I let them know I was a vegetarian and the chef prepared a huge plate for me that had rice, tofu, fresh vegetables, it was great and the salad and pasta and bread are very good too. And the dessert, WOW! Loved it and looking forward to it again!

For vegetarian options - I've been most pleased with Boma and Ohana.

Boma has a wide variety of non-meat items already served up (and the chefs will help accommodate if advance notice is provided on your ADR).

Ohana was also wonderful. As a PP mentioned, I too relished in the tofu and veggies - and as a fellow patron looking at our table stated "I'd take what she's having over the BBQ meats. Is that possible?" :rotfl2:

I've also have some great lunch and dinner meals at Crystal Palace and Tusker House. Again, just make sure your ADR notes the vegetarian option...

We just went with breakfast buffets because it's simpler ... Boma and Cape May. Boma was much more interesting, but Cape May had a nice solid breakfast variety ... cheese omelet, asparagus, potatoes, pastries, fruit.

I've heard the best character buffet for vegetarians is Crystal Palace, and the menu looked really good, but not good enough to convince DH to dine with "the sacrilege Disney made out of the Pooh characters."

Boma is the best though I've not done Tusker House since it switched. In MK, Crystal Palace has some good veggie choices, at least at lunch.

Boma and Tusker House would be our top picks. At Boma we like both the breakfast and the dinner buffets. I've seen the chef prepare something special for vegetarians but we've never explored that. We always find plenty to eat there from the regular offerings.

At Tusker House we always do lunch rather than dinner. Dinner is much more expensive because they include prime rib. Since we don't eat that, we don't like having to pay extra for it. As far as I know, everything else is the same between lunch and dinner but I can't say for sure. When we have lunch there we make that our big meal of the day.

Boma dinner and lunch at Crystal Palace are great! I eat meat, but I can take or leave it and at those places the vegetarian offerings are so good I don't touch the meat. The hummus at Boma is soooo yum and I absolutely love the premade salads at Crystal Palace.

Another vegetarian's vote for Tusker House and Boma (lunch/dinner and breakfast, respectively). They have a wonderful, interesting and very tasty selection at both places, and two of my favorite restaurants at WDW! I do not eat cheese and very little egg, so if you were open to those options, there's even more especially at breakfast. We didn't make any advance requests, just ate what was already there and didn't have any trouble. :)

Another vote for BOMA, lots of veggie options including several types of Hummus.
