Hi KK,
We've been so many times now that we enjoy chilling in the parks as much as the rides. Last October we spent a very pleasant few hours in MK - starting in the gardens to the right of Cinderella's Castle as you face it from Main Street and then wandering down the back way towards Tomorrowland, behind Tomorrowland Indy Speedway and stopped just by Goofy's Barnstormer and waved at the folks going by on WDW Railroad.
A leisurely stroll around World Showcase is another favourite, especially during the International Food and Wine Festival. We also enjoy chilling in the rocking chairs outside LTT and doing a spot of people watching (a good spot for the parade, although you have to arrive early).
Favourite rides? Well, I love Carousel of Progress which now only seems to be operational during peak times. I also loved Horizons and World of Motion (the old General Motors ride where Test Track is now), sadly both gone. Spaceship Earth is a classic 'not to be missed', Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, BTMR, R'n'R. Have to do Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion. Dinosaur, Kilimanjaro Safaris and TTBAB at AK.
We also love resort hopping and trying out different restaurants on WDW property.
Definitely do not pass by Spiderman (even if you have to wait 90 minutes!). If you like coasters, Hulk is great, but Duelling Dragons was a bit hairy for me! I hated Dudley Doo-Rights Ripsaw Falls and won't be doing it again - far too bumpy. Popeye and Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges are huge fun, but you have no chance of coming off anything other than soaked to the skin, so go when it's very hot, at the end of the day, or take a change of clothes. Poseidon's Fury and Eighth Voyage of Sinbad are both worthwhile, although I think I would do PF if I had to choose.
If you are foodies, Mythos is a 'must do' and we also love spending time at the Alchemy Bar, but it would be tricky if you've got young children. All the eateries are a notch above their equivalents at WDW, IMHO. And then there's CityWalk, where the choice of restaurants is immense. You really should not visit USF without a trip to Hard Rock Cafe.
