I'm considering booking a dinner show for our July trip (I know, I still have 3 months until I can even book!) but I'm not sure which one is worth it. We are on the dining plan, but I think I'd try to just pay OOP to get a better tier. I'm not sure about the Spirit of Aloha dinner. I haven't heard much about it, but the other 2 sounds great!

Which one would you say is the best? There are 7 us. 5 adults, a 17 y/o and an 8 y/o

I would say the Hoop-dee-doo revue

I just took my fiance to both the Spirit of Aloha and the HDDR... we both agreed the food and entertainment was better at the HDDR!

I also agree that Hoop de Doo is the best. The food is really good, and the show is a lot of fun. I think you'll enjoy it!

We really enjoyed Hoopdy Doo Review.

We booked the late performance, and in retrospect it was too late and my oldest was a teen was doing eye rolls and telling me how lame this was before we went in but by about 1/4 of the way in she started to perk up and enjoy herself and we ended up really enjoying it. I just don't think I'd try to keep everyone out that late again.

Another vote for Hoop Dee Doo! I have such good memories of this because we would go every trip going up. We skipped it last time, but are going back in January. Good food and the show is so much fun! Several of my family members have been picked to participate over the years...good times.

I've also been to the Spirit of Aloha, but it's been a while. I went to a luau on our honeymoon in Hawaii and felt that the Disney show was very similar to the Hawaiian luau. The food is not traditional at all. If you've never been to a luau it might be fun to go.

After going to both though, we continue to return to the Hoop Dee Doo.

Hmmmm looks like the Hoop De Doo might be best for us!! Thanks!

I'm glad I've done the Hoop De Doo Review, but not an experience I will repeat. Food was less than subpar, entertainment was cute but not memorable. Based on this experience, since then I haven't booked dinner shows, any extra money is spent on excellent restaurants like Jiko and California Grill. Jut my opinion! :goodvibes

We will be going to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue for our 3rd straight year in November. Our girls, DD10 and DD8, absolutely love it! It is definitely worth the 2 TS credits. Everyone should do the HDDR at least once!:)
