I haven't eaten at Kona before, so I made reservations for our next trip. What have you had that was great there? Anything that I shouldn't miss? You guys were right on about the mushroom fliet at LeCellier, so I want to know what's best at Kona (for dinner). Thanks!!

I always get the Terryaki Beef, and I now substitute the sticky rice for the potatoes. It used to come with sticky rice but they changed that. As appetizers, the sticky wings are delicious and the Ceasar Salad is always very good.

I just did a little review. We always eat there at least once on our trip. This time one of our ds got the turkey medallions, warning, dont get this , it looked terrible and was terrible. DH and I usually get the terriyaki steak, the ds have had the coconut chicken which comes with a salad, very good. I have seen the prime rib which looked very good and also the shrimp and scallops, but the breading looked a little much. For appetizers we always get the kona chowder. I have had the crab cakes too. Very good but a small portion if you are sharing. For dessert. we have had the chocolate cake, kiddie kone, but my favorite is the banana creme brule, so delicious.

We really enjoyed Kona. DH had the potstickers, macadamia mahi-mahi, and the kilauea torte. He liked the potstickers, thought the mahi-mahi was good but would have liked more of a macadamia crust on it, and loved the torte. I had the crab cakes, shrimp and scallops (both were delicious) and a dessert that I don't think is on their menu anymore.

Kona is one of our favorite places to go for dinner:
Favorites include:
Potstickers, Terriyaki Wings, and the seafood chowder
For dinner:
I love the mahi mahi or the terriyaki steak. Dh is partial to the noodle bowl type thing.

Dessert- love the macademia pie

I just ate there in May and had the pot stickers, mahi mahi, and the banana creme brulee with a raspberry smoothie. All were delicious.

LOVE Kona!!! Ate there twice last Sept., will go 3 times this Sept. My favorite entree was definitely the shrimp and scallops - really good! I also liked the crabcakes a lot, and the macadamia torte (or something like that) was delicious! Yum - salivating...

I had the crab cakes, shrimp and scallops (both were delicious) and a dessert that I don't think is on their menu anymore.

It was probably the Koko Puffs? They were HEAVENLY. I have no idea why they were taken off the menu. I was kookoo for those puffs. ;)

I like the mahi mahi minus the fried onion topping. DBF really liked the turkey medallions.

We love the chowder, teriyaki beef, mahi-mahi and macadamia dessert!:cloud9:

Sorry luvmarypoppins, but when I tried the Turkey Medallions, I enjoyed it very much. The turkey was moist and flavorful and the garlic chili sauce drizzled on the plate made the meal. I had the crab cake appetizer which was also delicious. For dessert it was the Macadamia Nut Torte. Heavenly, but is definately a dessert that 2 could share.
In the past I have also had the shrimp and scallop entree, that was also good.

Lapdogs42 - I am sure Kona will have something for everyone in your party no matter what your taste preference.

I absolutely love the beef teryaki and the sticky wings. Also I had the white chocolate cheesecake for dessert and it was wonderful! The bread they served while we were there was heavenly! It was served with macadamia nut butter. Oh I wish I had some now!

I had the crab cakes for an appetizer and they were very delicious! For my entree I had the Macadamia Mahi Mahi, and it was supberb!!!!!
