I had a baby 7 months ago and still have about 15 lbs to lose. Well it hasnt helped that I have not been eating breakfast and either stop and get something or drink a coke. I know - very bad. Anyway I was thinking if I had something I could just grab and go in the mornings it would be better than my current regimen. Any suggestions on a good tasting meal replacement shake or something easy to grab and go for breakfast? I tried a low carb diet drink this morning - I think it was called AdvantEase and it was horrible. First few drinks were not so bad but still not good but by the time I got 1/2 way through it was horrible. Any suggestions?

First let me say Congrats on your new baby!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
Next ..I truly believe breakfast is soo important even if its a piece of fruit, something to get you started.
I really believe it is just as easy to take a banana with you on your way out the door with some raw almonds..or to prepare something the night before so its ready in the fridge when you want it,,then to have one of the shakes. I know there are people that have had success with those type of shakes but they really are a bunch of chemicals :confused3 and you can have some fresh fruit that will give you the same calories and energy. There is even a bottled green juice that odwalla makes that would give you more bang for the buck than the meal replacement shakes.
whatever you choose.... try to eat or drink something healthy to give you that much needed boost in the morning especially after staying up at night with a 7month old,lol

I have not found a great tasting shake. GoLean (by Kashi) makes a good powder but you have to mix it yourself. I make a batch of muffins every weekend and take a whole wheat muffin with me and eat it on my way to work. Sparkpeople.com has some great whole wheat muffin recipes (apple, pumpkin, banana, etc.). I use different ones almost every weekend for some variety. Most of them are between 100-150 calories and leave me satisfied until about lunch time or I snack on a piece of fruit mid-morning.

**I take that back. Odwalla and Bolthouse Farms make some great shakes (usually in the produce section as they have to be refrigerated). But they can be $3-5 a piece and some of them can be A LOT of calories (some of them almost half a days worth if you drink the whole bottle). I sometimes will buy them when they go on sale and pour half of the bottle in another container as they usually contain 2 or more servings.

I am ok with mixing it up if necessary. I will check out the Kashi. I cannot pay $3-5 for the others and agree that I do not want anything with lots of calories. I realize I do just need to be more prepared and maybe make up some things to grab and go that are more healthy but right now it takes everything I have to get myself ready, DS8 ready for school and 7 month old out the door in the mornings. I will do better - I will do better - I will do better. Thanks for all of your suggestions.
