Ok guys I need some expert advice. I am thinking about planning a surprise trip for DH :lovestruc just the 2 of us. Which of the Deluxe hotels do you think is the most romantic??? It looks like for our dates in May everything is open. :goodvibes But I am just not sure which one to pick. Also for those of you who have been in the middle of May what is the weather like? THis trip will be more about dinners and the pool with only 2 days in the parks. Any help PLEASE is greatly appreciated.

I have to throw a vote in for Boardwalk Inn/Villas -- very romantic to stroll about, hand in hand, and there are many choices for dining as well as the piano bar and dance club. Also, strolling world showcase in Epcot at night is romantic, and there are a plethora of dining choices there as well.

It will be HOT, but that's ok (you will be @ the pool)
If you want ROMANCE at the pool : GF... Rent the cabana

We always take the little ones for Nov/Dec so we have no idea what May is like but I think it will be great. The cabana is also a great idea great idea if we stay at GF. Thanks :)

Since the trip is mainly about dinners and the pool, I vote for either BWI or YC. You have SO many dining options within walking distance....a nice romantic stroll at night right in to the Epcot countries each night is heavenly! Then you have the nightly entertainment on the boardwalk, dancing, ESPN Club, ice cream, etc.

We were there last May 19-26 and the weather was BEAUTIFUL. It was in the 80s during the day and 70s in the eves. The crowds were the best I have seen them in a long number of trips, too. It was one of our best WDW trips.

For the "best deluxe" I'd go with the Grand Floridian. :) But I also agree with the PP's comments on walking b/f to Epcot.....when DH and I had the opportunity go w/out kids (and that was a beginning of May trip - another lovely time to go) we stayed at the Swan to save the big bucks for family trips. We really enjoyed the Swan and it's a more adult hotel than the Disney hotels IMO. You get the benefit of the location & a deluxe resort without the Disney cost. We would have missed our kids too much if we stayed at the GF because that's our family favorite.

Happy planning!

Thank you everyone. I think May is a definate yes then. I hadn't even considered The Swan or Dolphin but I think I will check the rates! Those Nov./Dec. trips get expensive so a dollar saved now can go to that. Thank you!!!:cool1:

I'd choose the Yacht Club for just a trip for DH and I (someday...someday...) :lovestruc

It has the "adult" (sophisticated/quiet) atmosphere, excellent pool and hot tub, walk to Epcot and all those awesome restaurants (that you probably wouldn't go to with the little ones) to explore. Plus, there's the whole Boardwalk for nightlife, right within walking distance.

If DH and I ever went to WDW alone again, we'd definitely spend almost all our time at Epcot, so it would definitely be an Epcot resort for us.

While I agree that the Poly is romantic, it's very busy, bustling, full of kids, and there's NO hot tub! What's the fun in that? ;) The Poly is great for families...not so much for couples looking for a romantic getaway.

For Romance, hands down the Yacht club. One of Dh & I's favorite activity is to stroll from Paris (need I say more) in Epcot back to the resort at night. It is absolutley :cloud9: . Low lights, pretty hedges on your sides and the canal on your other side. During the early morning in May, we'll get some thing hot, sweet & fattening from Broadwalk bakery and then sit in those big white rockers in the back of the resort and have coffe and pasteries before the world wakes up.

For an adults trip, I would go with one of the Epcot area resorts. :) The weather in May is beautiful, I think perfect, warm and sunny.

for a cop out answer, i think you can find lots of romance at bwi, yc, or poly. the torch lit paths at the poly provide the most romantic moonlit strolls. with plenty of privacy.

Sounds like YC or BWI in the way to go. Thanks everyone we have never stayed at either.
