Best deluxe resort & value for $?

I am going to throw one out there and hopefully not get lambasted for it - but think about FtW Cabins. They are certainly as roomy as any deluxe and the resort is beautiful. They are also a great value for what you get with a full kitchen, dining room, deck with grill, living room and a beautiful bathroom. I also love all the activities at the campground, from the Chip and Dale campfire sing along to the outdoor movies, the petting zoo with pony rides, to Crocketts Tavern and Trails End Buffet plus being right at HDD - and you get the watersports too. I think the boat ride -which granted you can get from WL - is an attraction all unto its own. This seems like a nice compromise position for your family - it gives your children real live animals to see, touch and ride, and it gives you the comfort of a deluxe resort with the cabins' amenities.

hannahryan,

I don't remember what the WL looks like. Is the pool at the WL really fun for kids? Is the theming more attractive for adults or kids? Is there more kid friendly food (french fries, mac n' cheese, etc.) at the WL or at the BC. My preference is the BC, but I think it will be too expensive even with codes. Also, my family really want to rent boats for the week & we can do that at WL but not BC. As you can see, I'm really struggling to make a decision. Any more advice?

View of the WL from Bay lake.

My nephews and neice all love the Lodge, when I ask they always say let's stay at WL...They spend hours at the pool and love the slide (ages 10-4 years of age) They also love the Watermouses to spend the afternoon out on Bay Lake. The WL has several family restaurants with kid friendly menus. For more information on the WL just go to Like the Phoenix, out of the ashes arises THE NEWEST WL FAQ! (Part 3) the first two or three pages has information all about the Lodge. Then if you have any additional questions, Please just ask...

Like castlegazer stated Ft. Widerness is also great, but the cabins are more then the standard rooms at WL or AKL. If you stay at WL, Ft. Wilderness is just minutes away and is connected to WL via trails, and bike paths you could also take the boat over to see Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue or eat at Trail's End Restaurant giving you even more dinning options.
Hope this helps...:earsboy:

We love the Lodge! Also love the cabins, both have the great "Frontierland" theming and lots of critters. Some of the Lodge rooms have bunkbeds -- that's always a big plus with my kids. When we stayed last summer at the Lodge, we enjoyed both pools. The main pool certainly does have a slide, and my son personally went down about 1,000 times... We also enjoyed the "quiet" pool.

The Lodge is a great place for a great price. Proximity to MK can't be beat after a long day. There is a small "food court" type restaurant which we used a lot. Nothing quite like that at BC, except out by the pool. The grounds are beautiful and you are very close to all the fun family stuff at Ft. Wilderness. The lobby will take your breath away. We had fun just
"hanging out." Also, the place smells great -- there are cedar trees planted and the whole environment is so beautifully themed...

Best part? All this is AFFORDABLE -- you can stay 2 nights here for 1 BC or Poly. I can't argue with that! You can have fun and not fall over when you get the bill. Keep watching for those AP rates/codes because those "discount" rooms go fast! :)

Thanks for all the great information on the WL! This really helps bring me close to a decision. The picture is Breathtaking!::MinnieMo

I vote for the Beach Club Villas. Stormalong Bay is awsome! You should also look into renting points from a DVC member...you can save alot over renting direct through Disney.
