Does anyone know of good deals for laptops or any Black Friday deals? I want to get my girls one for Christmas.

Slickdeals.net on their black Friday forum have an excellent thread detailing all laptop choices. Ive been tracking it all for about a month and decided to jump early on the now available Toshiba Satellite 15.6" laptop for $229 with free shipping from Best Buy. I'm on my kindle fire so cant easily copy paste sorry. Best buy will have a Dell Inspiron both online and in person for less on Thursday but my currently crashing one is a Dell Inspiron that's had multiple problems.

Ive been tracking it all for about a month and decided to jump early on the now available Toshiba Satellite 15.6" laptop for $229 with free shipping from Best Buy. I'm on my kindle fire so cant easily copy paste sorry. Best buy will have a Dell Inspiron both online and in person for less on Thursday but my currently crashing one is a Dell Inspiron that's had multiple problems.

I'm seeing it for $299, not $229. I know Walmart has an hp for $178 starting at 8pm on Thanksgiving day. If I could find something around $200 online & not have to go out shopping, that would be great. We will be visiting family with no internet service, so after 7:30am on Thanksgiving, I'm out of luck.

I strongly advise against using Black Friday as the time to purchase a laptop. Apart from the issue of limited quantity and very busy stores (which applies to almost any "great deal" on BF), electronics have an additional issue, in that there are often 'special' models sold for BF, which may or may not have the same features as the regular mainstream ones. Think cost-cutting measures: large format televisions that are only 720p, laptops that only have one internal speaker instead of two (to name two examples I've seen in person). A far better approach is to shop around and buy online when you find what you want... you'll enjoy the product a lot more that way.

Thank you for posting about the $229 laptop. We needed a new laptop that was decent but not expensive. I ordered that one today. It looks great for our purposes!
