Best deal on LeapPad??

Seems this is going to be the hot toy of the season. They are sold out everywhere! Any good deals out there? Or any coupons for leapfrog website? I waited too long... I didn't realize they'd be hard to find.

The posts I find on here while doing a search are years old. I thought the LeapPad was a new item??

LeapPad (the touch screen thing) is a new item. Leapfrog recycled the name--there was a previous LeapPad that had paper books and cartridges. I am sure they are trying to play up the iPad similiarity.

Toys R Us sells a bundle (if you can find it) that includes Mr. Pencil and an app card for the same price as the Leappad only. Our Fleet Farm stores toy book has a coupon for a free app card with purchase of the Leappad. Kmart was doing buy one get one 50% off toys (but that is over now, but if you watch they may do it again).

My advice would be to take what you can find, don't open it, save the receipt and return it if you find a better deal but at least then you won't end up at the mercy of toy resellers if a better deal doesn't come along.

If your Barnes and Noble has the LeapPad in stock, they had a 40% off coupon for educational and learning toys. My friend gave me an extra one she found on the internet so check around. I just got the pink one this weekend and they price it at about $110 however with the coupon it comes down to about $66.

For the game cartridges, they are buy one get one free at Toys R Us right now.

The games are good deal at Toys R Us in store. If you try to buy it online, you can only get one free.

It seems like the ToysRUs bundle is as good as it gets, but the salesperson I talked to at ours said they've been backordered and haven't gotten any in for a couple weeks so I'm not sure I'd hold out for that.

I ended up picking one up at Best Buy for my DD at <gasp> retail price just to be sure I had it. I'm still watching for TRU to get more in and thanks to that coupon I'll start watching B&N too, but after going to a half-dozen stores that are totally sold out and had no idea if/when they'd be getting more I'd rather pick one up and return it if I find a better deal later than risk not finding one at all.

I have 5 Barnes and Noble stores in my area and called all of them today. Not a Leap Pad to be found, nor is it on their website. The employees said it's not even showing up as an option for them to order. Sadly, at least in my area, it looks like Barnes and Noble is out for finding one.

I'd offer to mail the coupon I have to someone, but it expires on the 24th and I don't think it would make it in time?

They have been coming in and out of stock on leap pads site.. you can sign up for an email notification on when they are back in stock.

I work at Toys r Us and and my store only had 3 in last week.. we are also getting 4 trucks a week.

At this point, if your kids are specifically asking for it, I wouldn't be worried about a deal, I would be worried about and focusing on finding the thing at all at regular price. I know several parents currently going nuts trying to get their hands on one of the things. Calling stores constantly, checking multiple websites online multiple lines a day, physically going to at least a few stores and checking store shelves about every day etc. They thought if they picked it up before Thanksgiving they would be fine, but it hasn't turned out that way. Seems like they disappeared around here about a week and a half or two weeks ago, and it started the mad dash.

Thanks for the TrU head's up I got DD 2 games for less than $20 (they retail for $25 each). The games are on sale plus they have the B1G1 free.

I did have a heck of a time since I would place the order only to be told that one of the games was out of stock. Why would they complete the transaction if one of the items is no longer available I had to cancel that order and place another one with a different game.
