Best Deal on a Disney Cruise?

Most of the prices are the same as the Disney Cruise site. So, the best plan is to find a travel agent who offers a good onboard credit. Then, once you go on the 1st cruise, you want to book while on the ship, to get the Disney 10% discount, onboard credit, and reduced deposit on a cruise. That reservation can always be moved to a different date, so you can book a "dummy date". Also, if you name a travel agent on the boat when you book, you should also be able to get the travel agent's onboard credit.

Another deal sometimes offered is Kids Sale Free...you can google that. They were running it for the beginning of 2010 and on the early Alaska cruises this summer.

Hope this helps!

It does! My family went on a cruise to Bermuda on NCL last year and my son loved the shows. He would cry at the end of the show when we would have to leave. This year I was considering a Disney cruise because we saw the new boats on the Travel Channel and they looked beautiful!!! Man, are they expensive though. Frugal and Disney cruise don't seem to go together. I saw things on smartcruiser . com. How do you know what a good onboard credit is?

Honestly, I just went on the Dream and had a great time- we booked another while on the ship and ended up cancelling. I went on an 8-night Royal Caribbean cruise (largest ship at the time- Independence) and it was only $350 more than my 4 night Dream cruise! And RCCL was the same class cabin! DCL is wonderful, but from my personal experience I don't feel it is worth the premium price. Honestly my room steward sucked, waiter was slow (missed shows b/c of him), waiter at Palo overcharged us and Disney ruined 2 suitcases with yellow paint when we got off the ship (I was not the only one)- they offered me $18 for the 2 bags that sell for $90 each from LL Bean. After fighting with them I finally got it resolved to my satisfaction- but it took me standing my ground and reading them their own cruise contract. That did it for me and DCL lost me forever.

I have taken cruises with Disney and Carnival and by far the Disney cruise was worth the extra money. But the prices on the new boats right now is ridiculous.

What is the best deal you have found on a Disney Cruise? Where did you find it?

One thing that helps is looking far out. The earlier you book the better the deal. Which is not true for most lines. Also of course traveling off times. We have taken 3 Disney cruises. One 4 day, Nov 2001, for about $1800 for 4 of us, 2 kids, 2 adults, 1 cabin I think it was an inside 11. The next was in 2004, Seven day Eastern, an inside 10 same passengers same time, about $2700 the last cruise, 7 day Western, 2006, was booked onboard with the discount and onboard credit, outside cabin 9, and one of the kids was now considered an adult, $3200. The price per day seems much lower on most 7 day cruises when compared to 3/4/5 days.

I saw something on their facebook page about a 14day cruise for ?$800? a person, have to go in May though, so wish I could do that!

The May deal is for the Med cruises ( I believe, could be wrong) so you'd have to factor in airfare and such...

We booked a 4 day less than a month out a couple years ago for $800 for the two of us. I'd be wary of a cruise at the moment though because I'm sure cruise lines will be eyeing fuel surcharges again soon...

We've done Disney and Holland America, and probably won't do DCL again unless I can get a great deal on the Magic, just because I love BATB and we've already done the Wonder. The new ships don't appeal.

That's the Eastbound TransAtlantic. Lovely, if you have the time off. You also need to figure out gratuities for 14 days. What stopped us is the airfare home from Barcelona!
