Best days to visit April/May

What days of the week are the best for visiting US and IOA? We will be visiting at the end of April/Early May and are trying to figure out optimal days to visit the parks. We were there last year at the same time and it was awesome (except for some of the school groups ) Should we avoid the parks on the weekends or are the crowds manageable. We would arrive as close to park opening as possible. Not always an easy task with 6 kids, but we do pretty well! TIA!!!!!

Weekends always tend to be busier, if you miss Easter week the crowds wil be very manageable - either way if you get to the parks early you will certainly get a few hours where the crowds should be fairly light.
