Best Days have been updated today!

Hi folks,

Shel is right, the scale did change. I think the least busy times of the year are those rated "3" - I don't see any 2s in the calendar.

Anything in the 3/4 range is what I'd consider "slow." 5 to 7 is average, and 8 and above is busy. As always, it's best to show up early and have a touring plan. The plan doesn't have to be a Microsoft Project layout of your vacation - a basic idea of which lands you're going to cover first each day will go a long way toward reducing your waits in line.

We noted in the Crowd Blog that the average error on our predictions is around 8 minutes. So if we're estimating a wait of 65 to 74 minutes, the actual waits are usually within 57 to 82, for example.

Also keep in mind that these aren't predictions about how long we expect average waits to be; it's a prediction of what the worst wait will be at the MK's headliner attractions. If you follow a touring plan and get there early, you'll almost certainly not encounter any waits like these. In testing we started this summer, people arriving early following a touring plan tended to have waits in the 4 to 12 minute range for each attraction. That includes both standby and FASTPASS line use. There are occasional exceptions to this (such as when you just miss the start of a show, for example), but overall, waits are pretty low.

Hope this helps. Good luck on your vacations!

Len

I don't get it. We are going the first week in January. Now I know that there is a larger crow that week due to the Marathon but 6 & 7's? I have been to Disney in January many times. There is no way this is the average:

6 = Peak waits of 55 - 64 minutes
7 = Peak waits of 65 - 74 minutes

OK folks, don't panic, and get to the parks early.

The scale used to be based on the AVERAGE wait time on the top three rides in the park.

The scale is now based on the LONGEST POSSIBLE (worst case) wait times for the big three rides.

I don't see this as a big problem, as I would NEVER be waiting for Splash Mountain or Space Mountain at 2pm in the standby line. (remember what fastpass is for?) :eek:

We're all smarter than that, aren't we? :teeth:

I'm not even in the parks at 2pm when the lines are at their max. I've toured since opening, and left the parks to relax in my room or by the pool.

Awesome! We've got five 4's, two 5's and a 6 (Saturday, of course) for our Nov/Dec trip!

Looks like it will be a little more crowded for my January trip - all 6's. But that's ok with me. We're doing the spa, shopping, dining, etc. Not really worried about lines. :)

I have 6-8's and 1-9 :crazy2: :scared1: :worried: :crowded:

We are going April 1-7. I'm hoping that since we don't do the "big 3" we will be cruising on all the other rides while everyone else waits for those. :rotfl2:

Ok, maybe not. But hey, that's what next year is for.... doing what you couldn't do this year.

Mostly 4 and 5's for me, one 6, one 7 (saturday) and one 3! The 3 will be our last full day in the world, that would be nice to have a really light traffic day and get to everything we want to do one last time.

Oh no! I planned which parks to go to based on my ADRS for the day and almost all of them are off. I'll be there the first week on Jan, my first day in the parks being the 3rd. Will it make that big a deal if I go to a "park to avoid"? I can't really change my ADR's now so I don't know what to do. I'm kind of stressed out now!

Well, we've got one 3, four 4's, two 5's, and one 6. Looks like we've planned pretty well!! :banana: At least I hope! ;) :rotfl2:

They must be off. I subscribe to touring plans as well as a few others. I don't get how Saturday December 17th MK would be considered a good park. It is sandwiched between 2 MVMCP's. I can't imagine that being good fo anyone visiting the MK that time....

Relax! You will be fine.

Yeah!- I got 4 fours and 2 fives for our dates. I hope these numbers are pretty accurate. We were hoping for low crowds. Hope the weather is going to be warm, because its freezing here in VA this morning! 26 degrees, Im looking forward to some SUNSHINE :sunny: !!

We'll be there the same time. Have already changed ADR's once. Figure we're just going to stay with our plans but will really try to do the early mornings & using the touring plans. (all that plus just keep our fingers crossed) Sure glad we are getting park hopper passes.
