Best day for Magic Kingdom in mid June??

We will be touring the WDW theme parks June 10 - 16 (Thursday thru following Wednesday). Which of these days would be the best to visit the Magic Kingdom? I believe the Unofficial Guide recommends Friday/Saturday, but as a person who lives near Disneyland, I have found it best to avoid those days. Is it really possible that those days are good at Disney World? I know some people travel those days, but enough to make a significant diffence? What about the locals??

Please Help... I'm going crazy trying to plan the logistics!!! :yo-yo:

Oh yeah, coming with three children between 9 and 4. Thought about saving MK until last, but they already know what to expect there since they are familiar with Disneyland...

I have also heard a lot of people say Saturday is crazy at MK. The UG does, however, say Saturday in the Summer - these guys have researched it thoroughly and I guess they probably get it right.

I recall Len Testa (a UG researcher) saying they give recommendations based on attendance AND how Disney operate on a given day. So it might be busy on a Saturday but Disney have the rides running at full capacity = shorter waiting times. In the off-season you still might wait 40+ minutes for Space Mountain if Disney only operate one of the two Space Mountain coasters they have (the ride has been duplicated in the same facility).

Its also worth bearing in mind that locals are more likely to stay away in the Summer (why mix with all the tourists and fight the hot sun when you can go off season?). And finally, if out of state visitors want to travel on somewhere else they are quite likely to do it on Saturday.

I trust the UG! Hope that helps.

We are hitting Disney at the same time!(after 4 days at Universal) We'll staying at Pop Century from the 10-18. Anyway, back to the question. I've heard Monday is one of the worst days for Magic Kingdom. I know in the past we've always tried to avoid this day. Something we always do is if it gets to crowded we just hop on over to another park. Hope you have a great trip!

I just finished reading the UG and was also curious about their advice. As someone else posted, they suggest MK on a Saturday in the summertime because locals stay away. I was wondering if anyone has been to the MK on Saturday in the summer. We'll be touring the 17th-20th (Thursday-Sunday) of June and want to go to the MK at least two of those days. We are staying off site, so EMH will also come into play. I am hoping they go with the new EMH that are being testing in May because otherwise there are two EMH for MK during my stay. From experience, it definately is not wise to go to a park that is having EMH if you are an offsite guest. I am leaning towards taking the UG advice and planning on going on Saturday. Their advice helped us the week between Christmas and New Years two years ago and I really trust them.
Any information about Saturdays in the summer would be helpful.
Thanks.
Amy

Hi folks,

I'm speaking with our statistician tonight, and he's researching this very question. I'll let you know what he says.

Sincerely,

Len

I figured that Monday would be a good day, since it's the day after an EMH day (I read somewhere that the day after an EMH day is good). Well, Monday in mid-June 2 years ago was literally wall to wall people in Fantasyland. It was so packed, I couldn't walk through. Tuesday seemed much less bad (is there such a thing as a "good" day for the MK in June?)

That would be super, Len.... thank you ever so much! I am so confused! If you all have attendence records from mid-June of previous years for MK (er, any of the parks!), or know where I could find that info online, that would be a great help, too!

Traveling with 3 kids and DH who will probably tire much faster than me, so I really need all the help I can get!!
