Best Day for IOA

We're staying offsite and will be at US/IOA on Sunday, August 5th and Monday, August 6th. I'm planning on the 2 day one park tickets and doing a day in each park. Its just my mom and I and we're going mostly so she can see the Harry Potter area. Neither of us are coaster riders so most likely we'll ride FJ and then just wander around.

Are Sundays or Mondays better for IOA? or doesn't it matter in the summer. We plan to be there about 1/2 an hour before the park opens.

yes.

universal is like disney in the way certain days have more crowds in the parks.

so many families travel monday to sunday.
when they first arrive, they usually hit the parks making mondays crowded.

i have found that saturday, friday then monday tend to have a bit more crowds than the other days.

during the summer months and in the high season, that can change the days of the week regarding large crowds.

but sundays usually are good days for universal parks.

Yes, we'll do one park on Sunday and one on Monday. This isn't our first trip to US/IOA, just the first one since Harry Potter opened. My mom is a huge Harry Potter fan so that's what we mainly are going to see (she has no idea we going so it will be a surprise). Other than HP, whatever else we do is a bonus.

Last time we were there was in August (pre HP) so I know to expect crowds, but of the two days we have available I'd like to hit IOA on the better of the two days.
