Best Date Night Resturant

I have never been 'wowed' by Narcoosee's either.

Narcoossee's is an upscale New England-style seafood place that strikes a calm balance of well prepared (sea)food and ambiance that can be missing in all too many Disney Signatures. Citrico's is lovely too (likely better), but fireworks are not on their menu. The ability to then stroll the Grand Floridian is charming.

Given that we live in New England I think this is all the reason I need to skip Narcoosee's for date night.

I think I'm leaning towards Morimoto Asia or The Boathouse right now- this will probably change 100 times before we finalize our plans :)

We ate at The Boathouse last Sunday for our anniversary, we loved it. The outside area was sadly closed, but that would have made it even better.

Have fun.

Of the signature restaurants, we've tried Jiko, California Grill, Narcoossee's, Yachtsman's, Brown Derby, Le Cellier, and Shula's (at the Dolphin). I went to Bistro de Paris as a kid but don't remember it well (it's been replaced anyway).

Of those, the most romantic atmosphere is Narcoossee's. We ate at Narcoossee's during the fireworks and could watch the fireworks from the restaurant. I really disliked my food at Jiko but DH loved his, but it had a cool atmosphere and is highly rated. I loved the food at California Grill and while most of the restaurant was loud, we were seated in the little side wine room that was actually pretty quiet. Yachtsman's, Le Cellier, and Shula's both had great food but they are very much steakhouses, less romantic. Brown Derby is good but loud.

So, I would recommend Narcoossee's :)

I live in New England as well, and had it not been for the post you quoted, I never would have guessed in a million years that Narcoossee's was supposed to be a New England styled restaurant. Given that Narcoosee is a community/road in Central Florida, and the restaurant with that name is in the Grand Floridian, I always assumed that it was supposed to be Florida-themed. Never once did I get a New England vibe while dining there. Maybe if they had named it Boothbay's, or Chatham's, or Newport's, or Saybrook's I would have made the connection. :goodvibes

My wife is not as enamored by Morimoto as I am, so we're trying Boathouse this trip versus Morimoto.

If I get a chance, I may still stop in for a few dumplings or a Peking Duck (I love Peking Duck).

We've only been to Narcoossee' s three times but I always got the impression the menu was more southern style / Florida local based rather than New England....who knew?:rolleyes2:flower:
