Best "date night" dinner within a walk of BWV?

So it looks as though DH and I will get an opportunity to escape for one dinner by ourselves on our upcoming trip. Halleluiah! We could use it. We'll be staying at the BWV, and would love to enjoy a nice dinner for two somewhere where we could walk to. Obviously this would include the Boardwalk eateries, as well as Epcot and even the Swan/Dolphin. We are foodies (DH in particular) and appreciate good food as well as good ambience. Anyone care to share their thoughts on our best bets?

I have to say I enjoyed Yachtsman's Steakhouse @ the Yacht Club this past October. It was unpretentious (ahem ... Narcoosee's) and our waiter was delightful! I would have to count it among the best steaks I've had on property.

In October DH and I were going to eat and drink our way around the F&W at Epcot, but it started raining. We were right in front of Japan at the time, so we wandered into Tokyo Dining. It was awesome, we only waited five minutes for our table, and we loved their sushi and drinks!:thumbsup2

We enjoy Le Cellier in Epcot. But Flying Fish on the Boardwalk is good as well. I believe Flying Fish has a nicer atmosphere and I enjoy the food better. But I am a seafood lover and DH is a steak lover so he likes Le Cellier better. Flying Fish is a bit more upscale and was less crowded and more quite than Le Cellier. Just depends what kind of food you like.

I'd second Bistro de Paris as well as Flying Fish---it depends on the atmosphere you want. From what I understand, FF can be a little loud at peak dinner time. We went for a late dinner (maybe 8:30-9:00) last trip and actually found it was GREAT. We were one of maybe 5 tables with people sitting at it and the food was awesome, I'd definitely recommend their signature red snapper wrapped in potato :thumbsup2

As far as Bistro de Paris, we haven't been (I'm lucky to get DH into Chefs de France---is opposed to most things French, don't ask  ). That being said, my Aunt and Uncle go to WDW every year and ate there. My Uncle is VERY picky and they both agreed it was the best meal they had ever eaten. That may have been a bit of an exaggeration, but it had to be good for my Uncle to give it the seal of approval.

One additional suggestion would be to "Eat Around the World" instead of going to one restaurant...or doing a different course at a few places. This year, DH and I are going to designate a good 7-8 hours just lingering around the WS. We are going to stop and pick up something to eat, as well as some adult beverages in each country...stopping to explore and take pictures at our leisure. You could try appetizers and main course somewhere like Le Cellier and then stop by the pastry shop in France to pick up dessert and some wine to go, and eat it while you are waiting for Illuminations to begin.

Have a GREAT TIME no matter where you choose, I'm sure you'll appreciate having a nice evening alone.

Yachtmans Steakhouse at the Yacht Club followed by a nice after dinner drink or wine flight at Martha's Vineyard at the Beach Club. :thumbsup2

Since we mostly stay at Yacht/Beach Club, we've eaten at all of the places in that area (except Shula's). Our fav for romance by a long shot would be Bistro de Paris. Second I would choose bluezoo. We love the food at Flying Fish but it's pretty noisy there. Yachtsman is usually a little quieter but food is not as good as Bistro or bluezoo, IMO.

My husband and I love Yachtsmen and for a dinner just us, would pick that.

I also agree about Tokyo Dining. We love it there, I find that one to be a hidden gem. Quiet, lovely views of Illuminations, top notch service and a great selection of Japanese food. We don't care for Sushi and we had plenty of other things to choose from. My son loves their sushi and was in heaven.

So I guess Tokyo Dining would be my very close second. Its also much cheaper than Yachtsmen and if you can get a table by the window, its wonderful. If you tell them its a special occasion and are willing to wait, they'll probably do their best to get you one.

There are several good choices in the area that you can walk to. We would probably suggest Flying Fish or Yachtsmen Steakhouse. You can't go wrong with either one. I agree that Yachtsmen may be a little quieter and romantic. Sitting at the show kitchen in Flying Fish can be a great experience as well.

Have a great "Date" night!

Love the Flying Fish! We live on Cape Cod and the seafood at Flying Fish is as fresh and good as any you get around here. The steaks there are also outstanding. Never been to any other restaurant on BW, thought. Dining at Tokyo is also very good, but FF is better for date night. Wait staff is very attentive and accomodating. Good wine, too!

My first thought would be to get away from the BW area (which can be bright and noisy) and walk over to Yachtsman Steak House. A nice leisurely walk around the lake, especially romantic at night.

Another choice would be one of the nicer places at the Swolphin like Blue Zoo or Il Mulino.

Does it have to be Disney because Blue Zoo is awesome at the Dolphin and in walking distance?

DH and I always do one night for us. We go to YSH for a great dinner, then walk on over to Jelly Rolls for some fun and drinks.

1) I would recommend
. . . Bistro (Epcot, France, upstairs)
. . . Shula's (Dolphin
2) They are best for adult dining
. . . good food
. . . nice atmosphere
. . . few, very few kids

NOTE: Both eateries are not on DDP, so folks don't like to pay high price for kids. This makes for a different & upscale clientèle than the typical family with noisy kids.

Victoria and Alberts!

I like your thinking, but alas, that's not within walking distance of the Boardwalk Villas. :rotfl2:

My pick for the OP of this thread: Todd English's bluezoo™

It's got a great atmosphere for a "date night".
And the food's not bad, either. ;)

I posted a review in the Nosh link below in my signature.
