I was there Aug 1st -7th in 1999 for my honeymoon and it was wonderful! The first night we hurried to MK and grabbed hotdogs from Casey's and ate them while sitting on the street in front of the restaurant. We took pictures of each other eating the hot dogs and whenever we look at those we remember that we both said "these better be good with how expensive it is!" and they were. Right after the fireworks began, my newly DH said to me, "Let's not worry about money while we're here. Let's just have a great time and worry about it when the bill comes." It sounds silly but that was the sweetest thing he could have said to me and we had such a magical honeymoon.
Some recommendations... we ate dinner at the Brown Derby one night at MGM and the piano man asked us what we were celebrating, we told him and he then asked what our song was and he announced us and played "It Had to be You" for everyone. One morning we got up early and had breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe'. It is really quite and nice. We sat by a window and watched the groundskeepers making everything beautiful. We felt like it was just for us.
Fast forward 7 years later and we are taking our 2 kids to WDW for the first time. It's gonna be a different kind of fun!
Good luck and Congrats!
