Hi, I'm very new to this board and I appreciate any helpful suggestions! We will be going to WDW for the first time on June 15! We are super excited and also overwhelmed by how big it seems to all be compared to DL in CA. I would like some good ideas for CS meals in MK....also in Epcot, AK and DHS! We have some ADR's, but there are days when we want good, fast meals so we can keep going in the parks and I value the opinion of this board!
Thanks in advance!

MK I'd vote either Peco Bill's in Frontierland or Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland. Not much on DHS or AK but Starring Rolls at DHS does have a few nice sandwiches and sweets.

MK: our favorite is PinnochioHaus (it seems like the menu may have changed somewhat since December, however- no more Figaro Fries) -- anyway - this is our staple CS at MK.

AK: IMHO, none- yuk. But, the rest of my family likes FlameTree. Just doesn't do much for me.

DHS: PizzaPlanet -for atmosphere - typical frozen pizzas - but a pretty good deal. Backlot Express was okay. Stay away from ABC Commissary - that is the one constant YUK on these boards.

Epcot: so many choices - too small a stomach. My favorite is Tangierene Cafe (which I think is better than Marrakesh)- love it - mmmmmmmm. Sunshine Seasons has lots of options. I don't think you will have a problem in Epcot -just too many choices.

Keep in mind that my family (when we travel together) has many picky eaters - so most of our choices are "standard" (chicken strips, burgers, salads, etc.).

MK - we like Columbia Harbor House (near Haunted Mansion) and Pinocchio's (Fantasy Land)

DHS - I don't remember the name of it, but there is a place on the road leading to ToT and RnR on the left. Up front (close to the "street") is a fruit stand, turkey legs, ice cream. Behind these stands are some walk up CS with the "standard" things for our family. The pro of this eatery - lots of choices - each person can choose to have fruit/turkey legs instead of other meal. The con is that the seating is outside. All the tables are shaded, but it can be sticky in summer. (Looked it up - on Sunset Blvd. it is called Sunset Ranch Market)

AK - I know this sounds bad, but we don't like a lot there for CS. If we eat a meal, we usually eat at the the McD's in Dinoland USA.

Epcot - lots of options with World Showcase. If you're up in Future World, we like EU (standard things) and Sunshine Seasons (in the Land pavilion) In WS, if you are adventurous, you can try things from the different countries; if not The Liberty Inn in the USA pavilion has your standard items.

I hope this helps - enjoy your first trip to WDW!!!!!! :)

Cosmic Rays has good food and if you are on the DDP they have a meal (it is a combo - I think chicken and ribs) that can feed two adults so you save a credit!

Thank you so much! I am making a master list and checking out menus for all of these places. Sounds like for AK we should have a big breakfast before we go and pack some snacks to get through the day....then have an early dinner after we leave the park. But MK seems to have some great choices...thanks again for your suggestions!
I can't wait to be able to give my own opinions when we get back!

This is pretty much what we do on our AK days. Usually, we eat at the resort, snack at AK, then head over to Ohana for dinner around 6pm. We are usually very hungry by this time - so end up pigging out.

I would highly recommend Flame Tree Barbecue at AK and Yakitori House at Epcot.

ETA: I would agree with Cosmic Ray's, too.

This is one of our regular stops too, but I just recently read in another thread that they are taking or already have removed all the McDonalds stands in the parks, does anyone know if this is indeed true?

If that is true - we'll have to start buying more ice cream as "lunch". :rotfl2:

At Epcot, we always enjoy CS in Mexico. Lots of food! There's a nice shaded area to the side of it that has a nice view of the lake. It's always a welcomed midday rest for us at Epcot. At MK we love Pecos Bills. Great BBQ sandwiches!

LOL, DH would call this a travesty as he thinks Flame Tree BBQ ROCKS! He has to eat there every trip, often twice. If you like BBQ, you ought to try it, at least.
