Best CS in AK?

Two adults on DDP looking for recommendation for counter service in Animal Kingdom for lunch (we will be having dinner at Artist Pointe that night). I was leaning towards Pizzafarri but it showed up a lot on the thread about places you wouldn't go back to. I think the last time we went we ate at the BBQ place but I remember I didn't really like it -- I didn't like the seating area outside, I remember seeing rats running around under the tables!!

I can't WAIT for the new TS restaurant to open in Asia next year, but meanwhile.... Tusker House is decent, and there is indoor seating -- lots to choose from, healthier than the standard fare -- not gourmet, but good.

Tusker House is our favorite. The salmon is excellent!

LOVED Flame Tree last week. The chicken was great!! Dh had a sandwich and liked it too.

Another STRONG vote for Tusker house, we have now eaten nearly every entree for breakfast lunch and dinner (Agree with cdtommie that the salmon is excellant!) Indoors is air conditioned, and you can see the parade form the tables outside!

We've eaten at both Tusker and Flame Tree and thought both were AWESOME and great deals on the Dining Plan!

Another vote for Tusker House. If it's not too hot, outdoors along the little canal is a beautiful place to enjoy the salmon or the chicken.

Can anyone give me more info on this? What type of TS restaurant will it be and when will it open?

LOVED Tusker House...My Mom went to the counter and told the CM to let the Chef know it was one of the best chicken salads she ever had. AND they have veggies there! It is a must do again for me.

Flame Tree BB~Q is our most favorite cs at AK. We have always seen cute little ducks when we sit outside to eat all these years

For us, Tusker House and Flame Tree (we've never seen rats, though) were both great and about equal. Given your bad experience, I'd go to Tusker. It's very, very good.

Tuskar House for me too. Although the Flame Tree isn't too bad. You can grab some fruit and a drink there and watch the parade from an elevated plane from one of their dining areas.
