Best CS for DDP?

We are trying to do some meal planning for our trip in May '08 because the magic 180 day mark is arriving.

I was wondering where everyone preferred to use the CS portion of their DDP?

I expect that we will be doing lunch almost every day on the DDP as we will try and save our TS for supper.

In any case, we will be there for 8 magical days so we'll have time to check our all of the parks, but perhaps not many resorts (there will be 6 of us including my dd 6, ds 4 and dd 2 so I'm guessing we won't want to venture away from the park for lunch unless it's something accessible like the contemporary)

Any suggestions are appreciated!!!!

We loved Pinocchio's Village Haus and Cosmic Rays. You get a lot of food in Flame Tree BBQ if you like chicken, ribs and beans.

I think the best value and tastiest CS credit was Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD - WELL worth a CS. The BBQ Chicken Quesadilla is to die for!

we had some CS to burn and ate there the last day- Wish we had gone their earlier in the trip.

I love the FLAMETREE, we ate for 2 lunchs with the 2 CS rib dinners we got!

In the MK I like the place that had the toppings....back near Frontierland.

Cosmic Ray's is great when it is not crowded.

popcorn:: :drinking:

At Magic Kingdom we love Columbia Harbor House and enjoy Pecos Bills (the place with all the toppings) and Pinocchio Village Haus. We like Flame Tree at Animal Kingdom and Sunshine Seasons at Epcot. Unfortunately, we do not like any of the CS places at MGM.

Here are our top three "bang for your buck" CS restaurants:
1. Wolfgang Puck Express in Downtown Disney
2. Peppermarket located in CSR
3. Tangeriene Cafe in Morocco (combo platter)

Cosmic Rays (first choice) and Pecos Bills (at MK).

Also, Toy Story Pizza was decent value... we got a personal pizza, salad, soda, and desert for 1 CS each. It is a cute place, with two levels but kind of loud.

Remember the plan is based on nights stayed not days. You said you had 8 days not sure if you meant staying 8 or 7 nights if 7 nights you have credits based on 7 not 8.

Another option to consider is using a "heavy CS" for dinner one night and using the saved TS for a signature dining event. We did that on our last trip, getting the rib/chicken platters at Cosmic Ray's for one CS and then doing a great 2TS meal at California Grill the next night.

In 2008, that won't be as good an option as previously because the appetizers are one of the best things about CG -- and the tip will kill you --but it's still an option.

My favorites:

MK--tie between Cosmic Ray's and Columbia Harbour House
EPCOT--the Tangeriene Cafe in Morocco and Sunshine Seasons in the Land
MGM--eh, there's nothing really good here
AK--Flame Tree Barbeque

But my favorite is Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD. It's a great value.

I think the best CS is the one that is close to you. I don't plan CS and won't travel very far to get to one. When it is lunch time (for us about 11:30) we find the nearest CS and go there, unless it is one we really don't like. Then we will go to the next closest one. The only exception is Epcot where we may travel a bit just to get to the rigth country.

Tangerine Cafe or Earl of Sandwich. There were definitely the 2 best CS places we ate at in September!

This is another vote for the Pepper Market at Coronado Springs. We ate there this past September. They offered a steak dinner (ribeye?) on the DDP that retailed for $20. It was delightful. My understanding is that Pepper Market is not as yet on the 2008 DDP, that they are an independently owned operation, and that Disney must negotiate terms with that company which typically occurs by late this month.

:thumbsup2 Tangierine Cafe (Morocco EPCOT) The lamb & chicken Shawarma Platter! A family favorite!

:thumbsup2 The Pepper Market (CSR) Prime rib with a horseradish drizzle, baked potao and grilled veggies! Yummm!

Lessee....

In MK, our favorites are Pecos Bill's and Cosmic Ray's. Pecos Bill's we felt was a really good value for the credits. Lots of food! We split 3 meals between the four of us and still had food leftover because we were full!

In MGM, Pizza Planet is a must do for us. Considering you get a pizza, salad, drink and dessert, it's a pretty good deal. We also really love Backlot.

AK, our fav was Tusker House. We did Flametree this year, and it was a lot of food, but somehow we just weren't all that impressed.

Epcot, some of the countries' counter services are winners with us. The Mexican one was a particular favorite and so was Norway's. Especially Norway's... can we say schoolbread for our dessert?! If I remember correctly, the CS in France is a good deal too, two savory and one sweet pastry plus the drink... lots of food!
