Best CS at DHS?

We are planning our first trip to the world January 2012 and have suggestions for good places to eat in all the parks EXCEPT hollywood studios. What are the best counter services there? Thanks in advance!

I have eaten mostly @ the back lot. HS food is ok. I tend to look forward to soft pretzels w/ cheese & mustard & giant pickles @ HS. Not really a meal, but still, my favorite snacks from HS. I have heard starring rolls is the place for lunch @ HS. I might give it a try this time.

I would recommend ABC Commissary and Backlot Express.

Anything has to be better than the ABC Commissary. Pizza planet offer the typical disney version of pizza. We ate at the backlot express on our last trip and it was pretty good, lots of seating and it wasn't very crowded when we were there.

Seriously, this place needs a substantial upgrade on its CS food. At best, go to Staring Rolls for a sandwich.

We usually end up a Pizza Planet though, just because the kids like it and it sucks less than everywhere else (possibly excepting Starring Rolls).

We like the BBQ at Fairfax Fare....it is comparable to the BBQ at Flametree over at AK, but never gets the same love that FT does.

You said it! There's so much hate for it on these boards it seems impossible for it to be that bad, but it is. I don't know how the menu can be so similar to CS locations in other parks yet taste so devoid of any flavor whatsoever. I don't know how they can make chicken and burgers taste like wood, but it's an unusual skill.

DH and I are NOT hard to please with food...we love so many CS locations in all the other parks, but at DHS if we must have a meal, we hit Sci-Fi.
