Which resorts have the best counter service lunches? We want to tour some resorts this time and already have our dining plan table service ressies made. Thought we might eat some good counter service lunches while visiting the resorts.

Thanks for the reply. This was my first post since 2001. I only got one reply, so maybe next time I will have a more interesting question! I just wanted to make sure I'm getting the best options from our dining plan. I am coordinating a magical gathering for 12 of my family members, so I feel a little pressure to make everyone happy! My bunch is easy to please though.

Dinky: I have the same question. We are planning a trip around Christmas and plan to take a "break" from the parks and enjoy the holiday decorations at some of the resorts. Whispering Canyon is fun, especially for the kids (table service). A real 'rootin-tootin experience'! Wilderness Lodge is always beautiful. I have heard (but have never been personally) that the value resorts have great counter-service (burgers, pizza) reasonably priced. I also read from a recent poster that Coronado Springs had good salads, sandwiches, etc....

I'll tag-along with you for the ride, and hopefully you'll get some responses from more experienced Dis'ers.

Hey all,

This is a tough question! I was all ready to reply and then I noticed you wanted counter service in resorts.... I've only stayed at two resorts. I have had breakfast at Captain Cook's at the Polynesian, but never lunch. It's nothing special, but I think they might have remodeled...I do however love the Kona Cafe in the Polynesian. If you could get there to have Tonga toast for a late breakfast, it's delicious! It's a type of French toast with warm bananas layered in it. I've also had dinner there, which was quite good, with good deserts. It's not a counter, but maybe you'd like to try it.

I've also stayed at the Boardwalk. I vaguely remember eating pizza from a walk up window...it must have been Spoodles. I'm sorry I can't recommend anything near there. BUT, if you walk over the bridge to Epcot from Boardwalk, you run right into the Fish and Chips take away window. That stuff is awesome! I'm trying to figure out how to go there twice on my next trip, it is so good. That is a counter service.

Hope this info helps, you have asked a good question. Post again soon!
