Best counter service Animal Kingdom?

On our trip last June, we went without a dining plan for the first time in a long time...Animal Kingdom was the park with the best CS food. Even better than Epcot we thought. Lots of options and it was actually all really good. Decent size portions too. I don't know that there is anything "bad" at AK.

I like Pizzafari. The food may be better at Flame Tree (OK, I think it is), but after a hot time in the park, you can't beat the air conditioning factor at Pizzafari.

Agreed! Pizzafari for AC and Flame Tree for food (watermelon salad!!)

Pongu Pongu has some snack credit options as well. The name is escaping me at the moment, but they have some pineapple/cream cheese spring rolls that were to die for!

I think they're called Pineapple Lumpia!

Satu'li Canteen was my family's overwhelming favorite this trip. Both the chicken and the beef (we ordered the beef medium) were flavorful and tender. The salad, rice, and potato hash options were delicious with the chimichurri. I regret not trying the dressing options, though. Three of us enjoyed the cheeseburger pods but the other two were too full. Simple, tasty, and YES...like McD's cheeseburgers with pickles. We liked it with the slaw and the bao wasn't dry for our order, despite others' experiences. The kids are still talking about their meals.
