flametree bbq and tusker house (both at animal kingdom) have a lot of atmosphere.
tusker house is themed like an african marketplace and the seating area is african themed as well.
the star attraction of flametree bbq is the seating areas which are spread out over the side of a hill in dense jungle landscaping overlooking the river. we ate here for the first time on a recent visit and we enjoyed the food and rally enjoyed the seating areas.
We like to go to Columbia Harbor House in MK, they have a huge dining room and some selection on their menu; tuna salad, clam chowder and vegetarian chili in a bread bowl. For the other parks: Cantina de San Angel in Epcot and Flame Tree BBQ in AK. In my opinion the counter service in MGM leaves a lot to be desired. I usually go to the Anaheim Fruit Stand and get a soft preztel and a banana.
Peco Bills is specail in the MK because of the great fixing bar. They have fresh grilled onions & mushrooms to go on the burgers and cheese sauce that makes fries awsome.
We like Cosmic Ray's at MK. The food is pretty ok, and there's enough variety (hambrugers, chicken sandwiches, cheesesteaks, soup, salad, etc) to please everyone. Plus, you get to watch Sonny Eclipse!--kind of like a Vegas lounge act--a little corny, but cute!
thanks people;
I've been in Pecos Bill a long time ago and never have tough you like it so much. Will have to do it again.
so far I have Sci fi in MGM ( i know is not counter) so I wont worry about MGM. This Tusker get me intrigued
Cantina de Angel- Epcot (can't beat sitting outside by the lake with Mexican food and a good Marguerita- DS 2 liked walking on the fence and playing with the birds).
Flame Tree BBQ- sitting by the pools and gardens again DS 2 loved the ducks
Pinnochio's so that we can look down at the Small World and have their great grilled chicken salad!!!!!! Great salad that we actually crave when we get home.
Pecos Bill's is also very good. They have a great wrap sandwich.
I cant believe Pizza Planet hasnt been mentioned yet. Up until our last trip we just went for the atmosphere for the kids(food was ok), but on our last trip the pizza seemed different and it was delicious. I also really like the salads there.
Another one of our favoirtes is the Liberty Inn in Epcot. Great fixins bar and the food is really good too. This is DH's pick on every trip because they serve Sam Adams.
I see that I'm not the only one that thinks MGM counter service is lacking. Our favorite counter service places have been mentioned but I'll put my vote in anyway We love Pecos Bill's (more for the food than atmosphere but I do enjoy the whole Frontierland area, and the Cantina in Mexico. I agree with whoever said you can't beat sitting next to the lake looking across at all the "countries" with a margarita in hand (and I like their taco salads too!)
I'm throwing my vote in for Flame Tree BarbeQue at AK....I love to sit by the river and listen to the Tarzan Rocks show across the way (if it's going on). Plus it just seems so serene.
