Best counter disney restaurants

We love Cosmic Rays at MK. Great variety and the wraps are fantastic!! We also have done Pecos Bill's, but it tends to get crowded fast. At EPCOT, the Liberty Inn is a good choice. Your standard burgers and chicken options. At AK, we like Pizzafari. It's air conditioned and that helps at AK.

I'd say Cosmic Ray's is our #1. Last year we went twice and this year we plan on going at least twice!!

By the way...while you're staying at POFQ, get the ice cream sandwich from the foodcourt. They use homemade cookies with a generous helping of ice cream in the middle. but beware...when the cookies run out, they use packaged ice cream sandwiches that just aren't the same.

Best Counter Service, in our opinion, are:

MK Columbia Harbour House. DH and DS always get 1/2 tuna sandwich and clam chowder. The tuna sandwich is great, very fresh on great bread. The upstairs seating is nice and quiet.
We also like Peco Bill's. It has great burgers and a nice fixin bar.

AK Since Tusker House became a TS (It was the best CS in all of Disney) we now eat at the Flame Tree Barbeque. Sit out back near the water, it is very pleasant.

DHS - Nothing is great here. Backlot Express is acceptible.

EC We love eating at the International CS. Our favorites include: Cantina de San Angel in Mexico for their combination plate - Yum
Sommerfest in Germany for a Hot Dog and ice cold beer,
Yakatori house in Japan, sit in the garden out back - very peaceful.
Tangerine Cafe in Morroco, Pretty seating area and wonderful Sharma sandwich,
Harry Ramsden's Fish and Chips in the UK. Sit on the side overlooking the lagoon - wonderful!

Last trip we got Park Hoppers primarily so that we could eat in the International Restaurants most every evening. Although we did TS, you could eat in the CS and find a wide variety of food, rather than your typical Burgers and Chicken Fingers.

We really like Cosmic Ray's in MK for the fun of being there, and it was also our first eatery at WDW.
But for something a little more laid back, we are going to try moroccan.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I am looking forward to trying them. I was looking for a way to justify getting Park Hopper passes. Being able to eat in Epcot more often is a good idea. Also we don't leave until August so I look forward to any other budget eating suggestions out there.

I like ... the Italian Deli sandwich at Pizzafari at Animal Kingdom.

Agree wholeheartedly! Was really surprised at how good this was.

My absolute favorite counter service in all four parks is El Pirata Y El Perico, and it is sad to me that it's only open during really busy times. For some reason getting the Taco Salad with beans instead of beef really hits the spot for me. And I love the pirate decor. It's not like it's any better than Taco Bell, but to me, it tastes soooo good. Maybe it's just because I find the veggie burgers at the other MK counter service restaurants to be dry and not at all tasty.

Columbia Harbour House is pretty good too at MK.

Epcot - Don't really have a favorite, but eat at Sunshine Seasons more than most

Hollywood Studios - Pizza Planet - they have ranch dressing packets that I love to dip my pizza in!

AK - I like Pizzafari and Flametree BBQ. When the weather is nice, it's nice to sit and look at the water at Flametree.

No the pizza at Pizza Planey and Pizzafari is not amazing, but to me, even really crappy pizza tastes so good.

Ok, so here is what I think (but I have only ate at a few places):

Magic Kingdom:
Pecos Bill offers everything from Burgers to Salads. I thought the double bacon burger was AMAZING, but it doesn't take much to please me when it comes to burgers. They also have this chicken wrap which a lot of people love! Pecos Bill is known for its Toppings Bar (though I've heard it downsized) where you could get cheese sauce, sauted mushrooms, pickles, onions, etc for your meal.
Columbia Harbour House... I've heard the food isn't as good here as it used to be, but they serve fish & chips, chicken fingers, stuff like that. What makes this restaurant fantasic is the dining area. Its 2 floors and on the second floor you can sit over looking the streets of MK. Its really relaxing!

Epcot:
Sunshine Seasons is cafetaria style... it offers all sorts of options and refillable drinks. I think the food is amazing here... they offer sandwiches, salads, roasted chicken, etc.
Tangerine Cafe is in Morocco. The food is so good and the portions are huge!

Disney Studios:
I like the Backlot Express here. Burgers, hot dogs, etc... it's semi-hidden so it can be fairly quite.

Animal Kingdom:
I have only ate at Tusker House and it's closed now for CS.

Downtown Disney:
Though I refuse to eat there now (I have been to two others that I was told would be open... and when I got there were closed.. very disappointed) is Wolfgang Puck Express. AMAZING food!
Earl of Sandwich never ate here before but my mom LOVED it.

As for resorts:
Loved Hurricane Hannah's at Yatch Club (or is it Beach Club?). Burgers, but you sit along the pool and it's nice.
Everything Pop, and those at All-Star resorts... these just offer so many selections that you can easily please everyone (though they can be loud and crowded).

MK-Cosmic Rays

Epcot-We eat around the world. I love the Fish and Chips window in the UK! We've also done the Electric Umbrella in FW.

HS-We usually end up at Pizza Planet because of the kids, but it's not my fav. I like Sci Fi. I know it's a TS, but we get shakes, onion rings, and burgers and usually spend just a little more than we would at a CS with our DDE card.

AK-Pizzafari (although again, not my fav)

Sunshine Seasons in Epcot and Yak and Yeti Cafe in AK were my favorite. The honeyed chicken at Yak and Yeti was the best meal I had at any of the parks. There is a sit down version and a CS version right next door. Seating was hard to snag and it was very hot in the sun but there are umbrellas at some tables.

We liked the Mexican place in Epcot. Although the line was really long, the food was good. In DHS we loved Pizza Planet!

We loved the food court at Port Orleans FQ when we stayed there. I would also suggest that you check out Scat Cats Lounge to see if they are offering any specials. When we were there, they had a deal on buffalo wings and beer. It was nice for a good price.

The Trails End Buffet in Fort Wilderness is probably the least expensive all-you-can-eat places on property. Check out the menus and prices on allearsnet. It might be worth splurging for.

First of all my son loves everything about the food courts in the resorts from the food to the big tv!!

Magic Kingdom: El Pirata y el Perico and Cosmic Rays

Animal Kingdom: Flame Tree BBQ (it WAS the old Tusker House)

Disney Hollywood Studios: Backlot Express (my son likes Toy Story Pizza Planet, but last time my pizza was burnt and dry, yuck! The salads are good enough, this trip we will pop in just for the arcade theming)

Epcot: Cantina de San Angel in Mexico and Yakitori House in Japan
