Daily wear lenses can be very comfortable but they are expensive. You cannot just change your lenses on your own since your eye doctor prescribed a specific brand for you. You might want to make a call to him and ask about lenses for dry eyes. He might furnish you with a complimentary set of trial lenses to see if another brand or type of lens suits you better. He should be able to do it without you needing another eye exam unless your prescription is more than 2 years old.I was thinking of switching to daily wear lenses if they are not too costly - does that help? I currently wear Air Optics which were fine at first but now I seem bothered by dry eye in the evenings.
Do you wear eye makeup? I wear Accuvue Oasys and I started having dry eye issues. My doctor suggested I try getting travel sized bottle of Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo and dilute it 50/50 with water and use that to remove to my eye makeup after taking out my lenses. It resolved the blocked oil glands/tear ducts issue and my lenses are comfortable again.
Note: although I am in my mid-40s, I still have a tendency to have oily skin. Most eyemake removers are oil based and thus made my problem worse.
Just curious. Did your Dr. specifically prescribe the Equate brand? Thanks.Put me in the category against air optics and acuview oasis. Switched to oasis last year and have nothing but problem. Had to go 2 weeks without contacts and Dr switched me to air optics. Didn't last a day. They were awful for my eyes. You know what's working best? The equate $14 a box lenses at Walmart. They are made by botch & lamb.... Which is the brand I wore for 17 years before switching to the oasis.
Well I wouldn't call them a budget item, but I made the switch to daily wear a couple of month ago
Approximately how much more are the dailies? I'm not sure what my insurance pays but not much so I would have to pay a lot out of pocket.
