DH and I have just had a custom closet installed. We still have all of our wire and mismatched (and tangled up) plastic hangers. Can anyone recommend a brand/type of good hangers, so that we can finally get some matching hangers to go with our new closet. We also don't want to spend a ton of money-the closet was enough :crazy2:

We just got a bunch of wooden matching hangers on Amazon. We mixed and matched types for pants/skirts/shirts/etc and bought in bulk.

It came out to around $1ish a hanger and we didn't go for the cheapest ones.

Congrats on your new closet! :thumbsup2

i can't think of their name, but they are thin with velvet on them, can be found at bb&b. Everything hangs nicer on them and you can fit more in your closet. The velvet stops things from falling off.

I use the Joy Magano hangers from HSN for tops, similiar to those at BBB. I hate wire hangers and the hard plastic ones leave bumps.

These! Walmart has them. I think a pack of 6 was like $3 or $4. I've slowly been swapping my hangers over to these, I buy a pack or two every couple of weeks.'

Here's an Amazon link to them. 50 for $28. I think I'll just order them online and forget about buying them at Walmart a little at a time now that I know I can! http://www.amazon.com/Closet-Comple...71228895&sr=8-1&keywords=black+velour+hangers

I did the same thing when I bought my current house which has an a-ma-zing WIC. I though my old plastic hangers just didn't do it justice, and organizing it was the first thing I wanted to do when I moved in. Can't remember the brand, it was not Amazon Prime eligible but the company that sold them had either free or very cheap shipping, and I believe they came in boxes of 100. I bought the same color wood in various styles for shirts, suits, skirts, etc. and they look awesome!

A pack of 50 is $10 or $15 at costco if you shop there.

I love love LOOOOVE Huggable Hangers!! I have hundreds of them! After using a few you can't use anything else! They also sell them at Target.

I want to try those huggable hangers. We mostly have wooden hangers and they take up soooooooooooooooooo much room. Even empty they take up half the bar.

:lmao: I'm the only person on earth that has some Huggable Hangers stuck in the back of the closet.

For some reason, touching them gives me the willies! (Like nails on chalkboard).

I really wanted to like them, they look like a good product and I'm all for anything that comes in a zillion colors!

I bought the box of $50 at BB&B. They were about $26.99, I think, and I had the 20% coupon. I also saw that Costco had a big box for a good price, but look at them closely when you do comparison shopping. The ones I got from BB&B have the bar across the bottom and there is also a notch/hook near the hangar hook in case you have a belt you want to slip on it. Not all of them have this.

They have saved me a TON of room in my closet. I used to use wooden hangars but they take up a ton of room and I lost so much space with them. But I do still use them for my coat closet because nothing does well with winter coats like a wooden hangar.

I've replaced all of our hangars with these. They're fantastic! My daughter just bought a house and I'm ordering them for her as well.

That's how I feel about microfiber. Ha!!

What do you find to be the best pant/skirt hanger? I like to organize my pants or jeans with matching tops. Then when I'm in a hurry I just have to grab one hanger and it is a complete outfit.

Another vote for huggable hangers! Nothing falls off of them and they give you twice as much space in your closet.

For those who use the huggable hangers.... do they leave bumps in the shoulders of your knit tops??? They look like they would....

We have a family friend who is an older lady. Every Christmas and birthday for the last decade I have received four hangers. She wraps wire hangers in recycled plastic bags the adds a knitted tube to cover it. BEST hanger ever! I finally have enough for every top I own. No hanger bumps in the shoulders and no sliding of the silkier materials.

(I prefer the smooth plastic for pants and the trouser hanger with clips for my skirts).

My advice find a senior citizen and offer to pay for yarn. ;)

I do not like the velvet covered hangers. I gave them to my mom who loves them.

No.

Wow, why would microfiber bother anyone? :confused3 You find all kinds on the Dis!
