best cleaning and quiet dishwasher

I dishwasher sounds like it is dying! It's seven years old and we've never like it anyway. It doesn't clean well and the inside of it looks terrible. It's a whirlpool gold.
We have a really old one at our lakehouse that is awesome at cleaning and looks brandnew inside but is very loud.
Is there such a thing as a great cleaning AND quiet dishwasher? Does anyone have one they love?
Also, anyone kow of any good deals?

BOSCH! Cleans great and half the time I forget it's running.

My GE Profile, 8 years old, cleans great, we do run it sometimes empty just to clean out the drains and such. The inside of the machine is stainless steel.
We have had to replace a few parts, so far nothing real hard or expensive. I go to www.appliancezone.com they are great. Tell them the problem, give them your machine info, they will tell you what you need and how to fix it.

+1 Our Bosch is running now and I can't hear it. I'm sitting probably 25 feet away...
