Best Christmas Movies/TV Specials of all Time?

half hour and one hour Christmas specials.

The year without a santa clause (the animated one not the one with life actors)
How the Grinch stole Christmas.
A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Movies
Christmas Vacation.
A Christmas Story.
Polar Express.

Movies set at Christmas time that really aren't Christmas movies.
Gremlins
Home alone.
Die Hard.

There was one years ago called "The Night the Animals Talked".It was the nativity, but told through the eyes of animals and on Christmas morning they lost the ability to speak.Really interesting.

My absolute favorite is The Santa Clause. I watch it every year, some times twice. I already watched it once this year, I think on Thanksgiving evening. I will probably watch it again on Christmas Eve.

I can't stand Polar Express. It's not the story, but the animation. It's too real, it's almost like watching corpses used as puppets.

Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer

A Smokey Mountain Christmas

The Ultimate Christmas Present

Muppets Christmas Carol is the best version of The Christmas Carol I've seen. Seriously. Followed closely by the Patrick Stewart version.

As for other movies: White Christmas, Elf, It's a Wonderful Life (although I assert that isn't a Christmas movie), Die Hard, A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, Muppet Family Christmas, A Charlie Brown Christmas, How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the animated one), MST3K Episode 321: Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.

My wife loves Annabelle's Wish...but it hasn't aired in years, and I am not able to find it on DVD.

My favorite of one not mentioned (that noticed) is "A Wish for Wings That Work" the Opus Christmas special from the 1990's...only saw it air once, but have bought it on VHS, then again on DVD. Robin Williams is uncredited, but does the voice of a seagull.

Playing Thursday night in select theaters. Rifftrax Live Presents SCCtM along with 90 minutes of riffed Christmas shorts. Fathom Events website would have all the details.

Many years ago I watched (and enjoyed) Mr. Krueger's Christmas (with Jimmy Stewart).

And there was a very old TV short called On The Twelfth Day of Christmas (1955). I wish I could find that on DVD.

A Smokey Mountain Christmas
is one of my favorites as well!

When I was little, I always looked forward to:
A Charlie Brown Christmas
The Grinch (cartoon version)
'Twas the Night Before Christmas ("the clock mouse")
and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

I'm appalled it took 15 posts for someone to get the right answer. C'mon people, we're better than this.

Honorable mention:

DW says we're watching Christmas at Rockefeller Center this evening. She really enjoys it.

My favorite is the animated How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

I also like the SNL parody Martha Stewart's Topless Christmas Special.
