Where could I get a really good piece of chocolate cake on Disney property? Not a fancy version with hot fudge or other toppings. Just good plain chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. :p

TIA! :wave2:

The chocolate cake from the Main Street Bakery on Main Street in MK is excellent.

AKL!!!!!! Amazing with very decorative balls on the top of it made with cholcoate too!! Yum! For my DH's 39th. I have a picture somewhere. I'll try to post if I find it.

We ordered it from Jiko there.

Let me know if you can't see the above pic. I will post the link. Really worth seeing!

It was pretty basic as far as chocolate cake goes but my whole family really loved the cake at Pizzafari in Animal Kingdom.

I still drool at the thought of it :cake: :goodvibes

The chocolate whiskey cake at LeCellier is out of this world. Wish I had a slice right now! :goodvibes

We had chocolate cake from Flame Tree BBQ in October that was excellent! Something tells me they were the same cake? Double layer cake with chocolate frosting and oh so moist!

So far, we haven't been able to get a good chocolate cake at WDW. They all seem to be "gourmet" and my DD won't eat it. We've tried at California Grill, mama melrose, france bakery and others.

My DD keeps ordering it, and we keep trying.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to jot all these places down so I can hunt down a good piece of chocolate cake on my Feb. trip. :hyper:

Thanks for the picture, cstraub! That cake looks delicious! Was it caramel icing on top of chocolate cake? Yum! (By the way, I love the picture of your DD looking out the window of the monorail. Adorable!)

Jack Daniels Choc Cake at Boatwrights POR. Really good :sunny: :thumbsup2

Also the cake at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom. All of the choc cake is dark choc that we found.

I may have to try the Jack Daniels cake....sounds wonderful!

Guinness Chocolate Cake at Rose and Crown (Epcot) is pretty darn good.

I had the chocolate cake at the ABC Commisary in MGM. It was surisingly good! Just your plain chocolate cake--but very good! I am sure it's the same cake as the other counter service rest. at AKL/MK.

Does the whiskey cake have an alcohol taste to it? I saw it on the menu back in November and avoided it because I don't like the taste of alcohol. It reminded me of a dessert I had there a few years earlier where I didn't realize the cherries were cooked in liquor and I nearly gagged after taking a huge bite.

It looks like maybe we need to stick to counter service for our chocolate cake!

I'm off to make a chocolate cake because you all have me hungry for one.

I believe that the icing was cholcolate.

Good luck finding the perfect cake!

My DS had a generous piece of chocolate cake with chocolate frosting at the Sunshine Seasons counter service in Epcot's The Land.

WOW! It was really good and I am not a chocolate fan. I had the key lime tart. That too was out of this world!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Yum.

Happy "desserting!" ;)

The absolute best chocolate cake I have ever had in my life I got at Cap'n Jack's in Downtown Disney many moons ago. We loved our entire meal there, but I've read so many bad reviews that we've just not gone back. I see they have Double Chocolate Lava Cake with Ice Cream on the menu from All Ears and if it's the same cake I had, it's to DIE for. We were too full for dessert so our server offered to wrap it up for us, so if it came with ice cream, we didn't take that and to be honest, I'd rather skip the ice cream anyway. I'm just not a huge fan!

Our next trip, we do plan on going back there again and I plan on finding out if that's still the same cake. I've dreamt of it many nights since I 1st tried it.
