we are looking for a NO FRILL place to sleep that is cheapy cheapy. We are looking to go during the kids christmas break. Anyone know of a really cheapy place to sleep

There are a ton of under $100 places near disney World in Kissimmee and on International Drive. I would suggest doing a search on Tripadvisor or reading the unofficial guide. My personal off site favorite is Comfort Suites Maingate East. They are suites that can hold five people, have shuttles (if you don't have a car) and a very good breakfast buffet for under $100 a night (maybe a few dollars more during the holidays).

Another option is a place like an all star vacation home. They have everything from two bedrooms to six bedrooms. You can cook in your own kitchen. I've thought about it, but the math doesn't work for a family of two. I would think the math would work well for a family of eight.

We stay in a Knights Inn that is quite literally 3 miles outside Disney. We pay $25 a night. No frills what so ever but for us it was clean and in very good repair. It is actually one of the nicer places we stay when we travel (save all of the money for Disney).... Another place that is more expensive is Seralago which is nice and is a Disney partner hotel so they do have some transportation to the parks....

For your party size I would look into renting a townhouse or condo. We stay at Windsor Hills but there are communities that are not much farther that are cheaper.

Be aware that at Christmas Disney does sometimes close the parks to offsite guests, so you will want to make SURE you are there prior to opening.

i am talking under $70 a night or cheaper. I want cheap cheap cheap

Are you talking per room or for two rooms? If it's per room, the Seralago is a good choice. If it's two rooms, then your really looking at a very hard way to go. There aren't hotels at $35 a room per night at that point of year. Your looking at about $40 a room per night. Some good places for around $70 a room per night. Travelodge Suites East Gate Orange is a pretty good from the reviews I've read. http://www.travelodge.com/hotels/florida/kissimmee/travelodge-suites-east-gate-orange/hotel-overview for more information.

for 1 room i know i can find 35 a night for one in the summer but wasnt expecting to find it in the winter

The Howard Johnson's run about that. I stayed at the Knights Inn no problem for about $30/night a few years back. It was okay. We didn't do anything but sleep there anyways.

If you're looking at $70/night per room I'd look at some of the condo rentals out there. Magical Memories and a few others have decent prices on expedia depending on your date and you'll have a kitchen and it would probably just be nicer too.

Travelodge Maingate Suites is coming up for $36.76 per night on Expedia for the days following Christmas. We have stayed there once for one night. The room was clean but the neighborhood was a little scary.

For super cheap - like the night before onsite we have done hotwire 3 star at Disney Maingate and stayed at Baymont Inn and Suites for $30ish. Decent, clean, basic - not a 3 star by any other measure but OK.

For around $70-$80ish we have used VRBO.com and stayed at the Villas at Seven Dwarf's Lane and loved, loved, loved, loved it. We had a fully furnished 3 bedroom condo that slept 8. It was not fancy-smancy but it was very nice with a large family.

Since you are going during the holiday season it may be harder to find something cheap-o.

how about the Days Inn & Suites Clermont I can get two rooms for a total of $600. Has anyone stayed there?

Clarion Inn LBV is a good cheaper-type hotel! We've stayed there a few times and like it. They always have good deals on bookit.com.

In the $70 range, I would definitely recommend Clarion Inn LBV. Last year it was $40-$50 consistently, but it's been around $70 every time I've looked lately. It's very nearbly, clean, the beds are comfy, and there is a fridge and microwave. No free breakfast, though.

I am interested to hear real experiences with some of the hotels nearby that are in the $40-$50 range, so I'll be watching this thread!

same here as i would like to find as cheap as I can

I would try Hotwire or Priceline.Make sure that you state two rooms and on Priceline pick the name your own price option.

I would beware of super cheap hotels, because most of the time you get what you pay for in the $30-$40 range. There are always exceptions, but we'd rather pay a little more and get in a better area, and have a different type of clientele there. We go for the Hampton Inn, Comfort Suites, or something similar in new look condition. I can usually tell if I want to stay there by the looks, the area, and what the parking lot and vehicles look like (no truckers, trashy looking people, etc.) Super cheap is usually not worth it to us - don't feel safe out or in. And no, we're not snobs, but want clean and safe ;)

I completely agree. For a family the size of the OP's I would think that a rental home would be much better for cost, room and the ability to prepare some of your own meals.

OP - I would head over to the Orlando Hotels & Attractions forum here on the DIS to get some great suggestions for accomodations for your trip :)

How many of you are going? Most hotels have a limit of number of people per room and if everyone in your signature is going, you would need 2 rooms.

We've stayed at the Clarion Inn LBV years ago and it was fine.

When I went last December, I got a good deal through condodirect.com. We had a 2 bedroom condo for 7 nights for under $500. We stayed at he Mystic Dunes resort and it was very nice. Clean, full kitchen, washer dryer
