Best Character Dinner

My family has been to Goofy's Kitchen (Disneyland) several times. We usually see Mickey, Pluto, Chip, Dale and of course Goofy. My girls are now 12 and 14 but would still like to go to a character meal. We prefer dinner since we can then be in the park early to beat the heat and crowds. Any suggestions of restaurants that have different characters, maybe some of the less popular ones or a great atmosphere? Thanks

1900 Park Fare is fun. It has Cinderella, Prince Charming, Step Mother, and Step Sisters (they are really funny). It is a buffet in the Grand Floridian.

Garden Grill in Epcot is a family favorite. Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale. Character interaction is really good and the restaruant rotates.

I also have to agree with PPs. I would definitely suggest 1900 Park. I know you said that you wanted a dinner but they also have a great breakfast! :)

I will assume you are talking WDW since the OP mentioned the GF???

These are what we did with my 3 yo son just in Feb...I'm looking for suggestions for our Christmas trip as well cuz he loves his characters.

Chef Mickey dinner- Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto
'Ohana- Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, Pluto
Tusker House- Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Mickey (maybe Pluto, I can't remember)
Cindy's Royal Table- Cindy, Snow White, Ariel, Aurora, Belle
Crystal Palace- Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, and Rabbit made an appearance outside to people in line
Garden Grill- Chip, Dale, Pluto, Mickey
Hollywood & Vine- Special Agent Oso, Handy Manny, Jake the pirate, and June from Little Einstiens

Ok, I very well could be missing one that we went to.

There are also princesses at the Akshus or something like that in Norway that I'm thikning about for next time (my son is a ladies man with the princesses, he is in love with Belle!). Not really sure of anything else. I'm pretty sure there is one place that has Timon & Pumba, 1900 also has Mary Poppins (different meal than Cindy) I believe or maybe I have the restaurant wrong! I really wish they'd add more of the non-traditional characters to meals like Toy Story, Cars (just kiddin'), Lion King, Nemo, Bolt (ha couldn't you see a dog running through the restaurant!).

Akershus is a nice princess character experience. I would suggest breakfast over lunch. It is the best princess character mean, in my opinion. Another suggestion would be the Ohanas for breakfast.

We've only eaten at three character meals, but we loved them all:

Chef Mickey's - The Fab 5
Cinderella's Royal Table - Our best character interaction of the trip
1900 Park Fare - We did breakfast with the assortment of characters (our favorite buffet)

I've heard great things about 1900 at night, Garden Grill and Tusker House (we're trying all of these on our next trip as well as Akershus).

We enjoy Crystal Palace, and you see all of the Winnie the Pooh gang there. If you did breakfast at 'Ohana, you'd meet Lilo and Stitch (with Mickey and Pluto). Both on our list last time and next.

1900 Park Faire. Food is far superior to other options and the characters are great.

AT Park Faire the breakfast has different characters than the dinner (Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter and sometimes a hundred acre woods friend). The hatter is almost as funny as Anastasia and Drizella though. Have fun!

Our favorite character meal at WDW was the Garden Grill at Epcot. We had the best character interaction there, Farmer Mickey, Pluto and Chip and Dale were all awesome, each of them sat next to my 16 year old who was not feeling the joy and made her laugh. Those were the best pictures that I got of her and the characters, it was awesome. The food is served family style, all you can eat and in my opinion in excellent. It was mahi mahi, pork and beef tenderloin, I think, with rice pilaf, mashed potatoes and veggies. They also brought mac and cheese with goldfish topping, which was awesome for my picky teenager (although she did try, and love, the mahi mahi), and the apple tart with vanilla bean cram was amazing. Oh, and they also brought us the red velvet ladybug cakes from the kids menu, also fabulous. The rotation of the restaurant was neat, but not very noticeable, it was cool when we'd look up from chatting or eating we'd have new scenery. I think that my favorite part of the meal were the rolls with maple butter. I'm a sucker for carbs.
